Surely you guys remember playing touch football as a kid. Just make the rule two handed touch. Any defender that lays two hands on the QB the play is dead and the QB is sacked. Of course that’s when I stop watching the NFL.

I'm not going to blame Tomlin's comments for the fine on Watt; however, can anyone put forth any plausible explanation? How the league could review what looked clearly like a borderline call on the field, and determine that it was subject to an additional fine?

I certainly can't.

Yes, the STEELERS unanimously voted against the current CBA. The "rog" disdained them from that point forth. It should also be noted that the STEELERS were the ONLY ones to vote against the CBA and the power it bestowed upon the "rog". **** the rog !!!

Seriously though, that fine was complete and utter dogshit. This is the type of play the league should be showing to all of their players. How to twist your body to avoid direct contact. Perfect job by Watt to rotate his body, so Ryan wasn't carted off of the field. You can't have the rules with all of these stipulation, then fine someone for doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing. Helping to protect the health of the QB.

I appeal this fine, I get loud about it, Rooneys need to get involved, and JJ needs to harp on his end as well to aid his brother. This is complete jackassary by the league.
 
Unreal.. What the hell is going on with this league? When does Vince McMahons league begin playing? Will Pittsburgh have a team?

Vince may not be able to put the quality of players on the field as the NFL currently does but VINCE may be able to put better quality oin overall games onto the field. I'm looking forward to see how VINCE's league progresses.

Me too. I don't want to see players carted off due to head hunters but I want to watch football like we were used to watching. The product out there now is almost unwatchable. Whenever they have a great play, you ultimately have to wait to see if the refs are going to throw a flag or go through the review process. I hope the new league doesn't have video review at all.
 
Good points JMM as I too hope that the "VINCE" games are a little more "let them play" league with less flags. He Talked once about no replay etc.. I do know that his first time around he didn't take it as serious as he appears to be taking this time around. He actually has gotten financing in place (not on previous league), he is also investing a very large portion of his OWN MONEY. I'm NOT looking for a replica of the NFL and nice insists this won't be a replica, so there is that. He has also achknowledged the salaries won't mirror either so that translates to lower ability overall BUT that lower ability can be accepted provided the game experience is higher quality. VINCE says that is what he is striving for. I watched a live interview and VINCE seemed pretty conVINCEing to say the least. Take it for what it's worth and until the league is up and running it's a wait and see for me.

I don't want a replica of today's NFL. I want a replica of what it was like in the 60s & 70s. I want to see defense be able to play again. I want to see a real ground game again where the team that dominates at the line of scrimmage wins rather than the team that wins on a bullshit pass interference call. I think low scoring defensive battles are more entertaining than watching teams roll up and down the field...that's boring. I do like the two point conversion a d for the love of God bring back the kickoff return. What's more dull to start a game than to have the initial kickoff sail through the goal post.

But once the lawsuits start tumbling in ....the league will fold.

What lawsuits? It's pretty easy to set up a league with a damage waiver and a disclaimer that you may get CTE from playing football.

The reason why the NFL doesn't have this is the NFLPA has to agree to it, and it means the owners would have to give up something BIG for it to happen. That's why they sat on CTE dangers for so long.

The "wrestling" venture has taught O'l VINCE a thing or two about potential law suits. You don't think there is CTE reprocussions in the wrestling world, regardless of how staged it is...??? Yes VINCE will have a scheme to sidestep that and the NFL will follow VINCE in this regards once they see all the fans jumping ship to watch REAL football, AGAIN..!!

But do we really think the NFL is just going to sit by and watch this league unfold without some shots across McMahon's bow?

I hope his league steals a **** ton of viewers away from the ****** new NFL. I certainly will be watching it when it starts. I hope there are no gimmicks. If it looks like the NFL 15-20 years ago, they will steal away business. The NFL might change their tune real quick. Viewership has already been down quite a bit. Imagine if their is a competing product that offers what they can't and what fans want to see.
