Watt's cryptic post

For those who say Watt “disappeared” for five games, I think he had his highest rated PFF grade ever, he just ran into what Garrett ran into a couple years ago, all the attention paid to him. Unfortunately, the Steeler coaches weren’t smart enough to move him around.

Can still ball, but without a QB seems he’s being wasted.

agree. He was facing 2 blockers most of the time and sometimes a 3rd to chip him. Coaches should have at least moved hm around a bit.

The year Garrett won DPOY, he did nothing the back half of the season, and his overall stats were all eclipsed by Watt. There is NO question Watt was DPOY in 2023, NO question at all to any real football fan (and not just a Steelers homer). He also should have won it the last time Donald won it.

Watt is still in his prime and should be for a few more seasons.

Add in that he got cheated out of the sack record as well.!!!

The Tomlin-scheme is his biggest method of him being defensed.

Postering by TJ I think! This is his last opportunity to get paid and he’s going for it and I don’t blame him at all.
The Steelers don’t have to pay a QB so the money is there to pay TJ. He’s our best player and I believe the front office will pay him what he wants.
We need him on defense and without him would leave a huge void.
Five years 40 million per takes him to retirement and a one helmet guy as Art has mentioned.
They will get it done before the season.

I think 4 yrs / 41 mil. I think they just clip the helmet thug contract.

It appears it's Watt who didn't want to move around. He stated at the end of the year he needs to be more open to it.

He's 30, not the wrong side of 30 you miserable titstick. Myles is 29, just a year behind him in case you're math impaired also. There is still a good bit of contract years for them both. Myles just got a four year deal, TJ is probably looking for the same and the Steelers should give it to him.

Personally, I hope he goes to a winning team and get's his ring(s). He deserves to win. Great guy.
What don't you grasp, titwiggle? The "wrong side" of 30 is a common phrase, meaning you are either younger than 30 or older than 30, and it happens to be a demarcation spot in sports performance. TJ is now on the older side of said demarcation, it's downhill from here as the latter part of last season probably showcased: he did NOTHING the last 4 weeks of play, not a thing. He may squeeze out 12 sacks but his days of 22 for the season are probably waving bye bye. It's just life, and he is probably not going to enjoy trying to attain $40+ mill a year. It's reality. Players who turn 30 see their production go from 22 sacks to 11.5. It happens. It happened to Lloyd, Harrison, everyone. You can sit there and deny it, but Father Time has never lost, Bozo the Clown, worshiper of Clown-lin. Keep them jiggling. TJ is on the wrong side of 30.

Him being wasted is a Clown-lin issue.

STFU Trey Hendrickson is the same age as TJ, just put back to back 17.5 sack seasons together.

Kyle Van Noy at 34 just had his best season ever, revived his career.

Cam Heyward is 35, just had one of his best seasons. 30 is the typical number for running backs, not any other position.

Crawl back under your rock, and take all your alter ego's with you.

And there probably are and definitely have been many more.
The player that sticks out in my mind was the “ageless wonder” Darrell Green, who retired at 42.
Amazing, especially for a CB.

Ageless Wonder

Darrell Green had always been known for his speed, from running a rumored 4.09 40-yard dash in 1986 training camp to winning the NFL's Fastest Man competition four times. Even at 40-years old, Green was still blazing fast, clocking a 4.24 40-yard dash.

By the time Green hung up his cleats in 2002 at 42 years old, he held the club record for most interceptions (54), most interceptions returned for touchdowns (6), longest fumble return (78 yards), oldest player to have an interception (41 years old), and most consecutive seasons with an interception (19 – still a league record). He also only missed 25 games throughout his entire NFL career.

I think some people are confusing the "prime" age of Runningbacks with the "prime age of a pass rushing olb or De... gthe typical RB is done by 30.
Olbs and Des typically play till 35 to 37 barring injury.
If Watt was 34, it would be more risky to pay him, but he should be getting long term bank at 30...

Its different position by position... some positions the age you start getting worried about production drop off is 32/33, some 35/36, for RBs its 29/30...
You can look at historical stats and typically see the end of prime for each pretty easily

I mean, just go to the profootball reference sack leaders site, click on each of the all time greats. They have each season labeled with the age of the player... you can see how long they played and when they stopped having great seasons... assuming tj has 4 or 5 great to good more seasons left isnt difficult

How can you be on the wrong side of 30 if you're 30?
He's on your demarcation, not past it.
Dum bass.
As of right now, he's on the "right side" of 30; he doesn't turn 30 until Oct of this year. And then he will be on the "wrong side" of 30, twinkle ****. Are you this slow?

This board needs some sort of demarcation line for people like you.

I read this post of you’s verVERYvery slow, I mean real slow…………

In hopes of an example for you to go back and read post #35 and post # 38.

Take the time to digest them, ponder on them for an hour or so.

Then just before you post again on this subject, read them again at even a slower speed………….

35 & 38, for you, re-read again.!!!!!!

I’m only trying to help you resurrect your dignity…………..

From this clowns perspective is that the second after you hit 30 you begin your decline, which technically would be correct because you have now reached 30, thus you are now entering “the wrong side” beginning your journey towards 31.

But normal people understand that the idiom is not meant to be that specific…that not until you’ve turned 31 you are considered to be on the wrong side of 30.
I had a mixed emotions when I turned 30, but I took solace in telling myself that I still had a year to go before I had to come to terms with being on the wrong side of 30!

Really, so you can explain the cliff pass rushing LBs fall off in their 30s? Watt from 22.5 to 11 when approaching that magic age?

"Hair puller" he's been put on ignore long ago. Too bad "Hair puller."

His loss for sure , cuz you’re kind of a big deal aren’t you.

At the rate that you’ve been getting slapped around, shouldn’t you have nearly everyone on ignore by now?

Oh great, our near-30 pass rusher fell from 22 sacks to 11.
Kyle Van Noy at 34 just had his best season ever, revived his career.

Went from averaging 1/2 sack a year his 1st 5 years to 13.5, nothing unusual there.

His "best" season? He was seen on the sidelines taking a nap more than on the field.

Suck it, "Hair puller."
