Arthur Moats, man listening to him makes me want to cut my ears off with a spoon.

First last week he said I'm not sure why the fans are upset, Tomlin is getting so much more out of this team than anyone else, can, look at his QB's you can't expect him to win in the playoffs. He's taking this team as far as he can. Not to mention Noll won playoff games with Malone and Brister, Cowher made a Super Bowl and 4 AFCCG's with Neil and Kordell, and won a playoff game with Maddox and Tomczak. Then when it was brought up Tomlin had that QB, it was well the players didn't play good enough.

Now this week, this is one I haven't hear from the Tomlin lovers yet, I'm thinking maybe Tomlin brainwashed him while there. He said in regards to the Bears wanting to talk about a trade, he's asking why are fans upset they basically hung on them? Why are fans in such a hurry to run the guy who built this thing from the ground up out here. He said, "Tomlin took over an 8-8 team and look what he built them into" WTF????

He said it's different Belichick got fired because he had a bad season, same with Reid, and Pedersen.

That 8-8 team was year removed from a Super Bowl.

That 8-8 team had a future HOF QB entering prime years.

That 8-8 team had several HOF players on it.

That 8-8 team, more likely than not, would have 2 (conservative # ) more Lombardis.

Sorry, Coach Tomlin has only built what is commonly known as Groundhog Day in most circles.

Also: Moats’ credibility has been questioned by m y self and I’m sure others. He relays on clicks to much for my liking.

I'm not a Tomlin hater. But at this point, it wouldn't bother me if he was fired. But since I know he won't, I don't waste any mental energy on it. I don't understand fans who make it a crusade. What do they hope they'll accomplish??
It was the fans who finally got Canada out, sure, Smith and Fraudlin ended up just as bad, but at least they got Canada out. Now we got to get Fraudlin gone.

They were also top 10 on both sides of the ball.

No mention that Ben went face first into a car windshield in the offseason prior to 06.

Why is it ok for everyone to say Barry Switzer won with Jimmy Johnson's team, but hell no you can't say that in regards to Tomlin.
I say that all the time.

That’s exactly correct that Ben had a life threatening accident on his motorcycle prior to the 06 season.
That team sustained some key injuries as well in 06 plus there was a bit of SB slump as well.
Tomlin took over a team one year removed from a SB championship.
Also, didn’t Ben also go through an emergency apindectomy prior to 2006?

Yes, and I think he missed time with a concussion too.

Coryea, I thought so. 2006 was not a healthy season for Ben to put it mildly.
Btw, I can’t stand listening to one Arthur Moats. He’s annoying and most definitely a Tomlin homer.

I mean this is a discussion board, and he's obviously the biggest issue with this year, setting some pretty dismal records

We may be powerless to force change in the here and now but don't think our collective attitudes will not get reacted to in time. Fraudlin is indeed a fraud and frauds need sent on their way.

Draft, free agency, trades, staff firings, FA departures, cuts, etc. All are realities, just like Tomlin being the coach in 2025.

Moats' position is not new. I gotta give him credit though, he definitely tries to come up with new ways to spin it.

# 4…C’mon now.😁

Why were they 8-8?
In the words of Bill Parcels…you are what your record says you are.

No way in hell did we dominate Seattle.
To form the conclusion that those Steelers would have won more super bowls based on one of the weirdest SB’s ever played (in so many ways) sounds a bit far fetched to me.
Cowhers 90’s teams should have won a SB or two.
We were a badass team then.

Can you point out how the Steelers can win a SB with Tomlin as coach given the team's utter lack of playoff success since 2015?

I can!
Get him some players.
Remember he won a Super Bowl with Cowhers players, already proving he can win with quality players.

There are holes you can punch in the tired old “Tomlin won with Cowhers players” argument.
“Tomlin was hired without prior experience” is just as lame.

Yes Ben missed the opener against MIAMI ..........my first Steelers game in Pittsburgh ............... He was always injured for games I came to Pittsburgh to watch .........

Only saw him play in Detroit and Buffalo

And by “hater” I presume you mean “critic”. Words used interchangeably. Some get offended by being called a hater. Although I don’t doubt for a second some actually do hate the guy who they blame for driving this franchise into the ground.

I’m sorry you didn’t get to see Ben play, but you got to see a fantastic city while there…. Amongst other stuff.

I remember Ben’s rookie year and I was on the Steeler’s sideline prior to the game. Ben comes jogging over to the bench to retrieve his helmet and he’s maybe 10 feet away from me.
Seriously, he looked like Paul Bunyan. The guy was ******* huge at about 6’6” 270 lbs. Massive dude!
Those were fun days getting sideline passes.

Ben, coach Cowher and the team had a tough 2006.

Donte Collpepper (sp) was a huge QB man as well.
