We have a new leader in the clubhouse as the biggest Tomlin homer,

Quick, name the other head coaches who kept their jobs after 8 years of not winning a single playoff game. Name all you know.
Quick, name the other head coaches that have been to two Super Bowls, won one and never had a losing season and got fired after going 10-7 and making the playoffs. There aint one.

Like I said, it wouldn't bother me to see Tomlin fired, but since I know it's not going to happen, I don't waste my mental energy on it.

I can!
Get him some players.
Remember he won a Super Bowl with Cowhers players, already proving he can win with quality players.

There are holes you can punch in the tired old “Tomlin won with Cowhers players” argument.
“Tomlin was hired without prior experience” is just as lame.

Tomlin had even better players than Cowhers. Could not win with a HOF QB throwing 5TD 500 yd game and the NFL league best at WR AND RB.
Tomlin failed miserably against journeymen QB. repeatedly
Get out of here with this "get him some players"
He had the Best QB/RB/WR trio to ever take the same field.

I'm not a Tomlin hater. But at this point, it wouldn't bother me if he was fired. But since I know he won't, I don't waste any mental energy on it. I don't understand fans who make it a crusade. What do they hope they'll accomplish??

8 years without a playoff win, if that brings joy to you, then tear out a page to that journal and do a fancy jig to it. Whatever makes you dance.

And a killer OL to go with it. And the man won nothing with all of that.

Then that means he won a Super Bowl with Cowhers inferior players.
I don’t just mean get him skill players.
Cower had better teams.
Cowher failed miserably in the 90’s to win a SB with one of the greatest Steelers teams ever assembled.

How dare Cowher let that Chargers TE get free for a TD in the conference championship game.
How dare Tomlin let our HOF Qb throw 3 interceptions against the Clowns in the playoffs.

Quick, name another head coach who went 8 years without winning a single playoff game, and still had his job with the same team.

There is one in this century-- Marvin Lewis. Incredibly, he spent 16 seasons with the Bengals and never won in the postseason. Yet in the third year after his departure, the Bengals went to the Super Bowl. MT may very well challenge that record by the time it's all said and done...he's already halfway there. Let's hope not.

Marv Lewiis and Don Shula
Shula had won back-to-back Super Bowls prior to that 8-year drought, and he also went 10-4 twice during that stretch without the Dolphins even having the opportunity to play in the postseason in those years, so I can understand why they gave him some slack. And in the ninth year, they got back to the Super Bowl.

I'd venture to guess that Mikey's path will trend more toward Lewis's than Shula's.

One could also say the same for Teryl Austin and all the money committed to the defense.

Rooney must be fine with ****** return on investments.
No, that $ gave him all those non-losing seasons, so Art is fine with the return, it's all he wanted. He thinks non-losing seasons is akin to winning a Super Bowl.

How about seasons with a playof win?

Mike Tomlin: 4 of 18
John Harbaugh: 9 of 17
Tom Landry: 11 of 23 (Super Bowl era only)
Don Shula: 9 of 26 years (Miami only)
Bill Belichick: 14 of 24 years (New England only)
Chuck Noll: 8 of 23 years
Bud Grant: 6 of 18 years
Bill Cowher: 8 of 15 years

Very true. But I think we've seen the beginning of the end. The greater media has finally woke up and the whispers have started. And since there is literally no chance they will win a playoff game in the next two years.........this should be his last contract. One he should not have received.

Wow, putting it into that perspective, Fruadlin really, really does suck.

Cowher would have won multiple superbowls if he had a HOF QB for 18 years, especially the Killer bee era.

The combo of Big Ben, Bell, and AB should have been one of the best "big 3" combos of all time.

No mention that Ben went face first into a car windshield in the offseason prior to 06.

Why is it ok for everyone to say Barry Switzer won with Jimmy Johnson's team, but hell no you can't say that in regards to Tomlin.
And Seifert won with Walsh's team as well. At least he got two Lombardis out of them...Mikey couldn't even do that with our bunch.

Cowher had O'Donnell on that run. Imagine Tomlin even making it to the AFCCG with a QB like O'Donnell...LOL...literally...LOL.

Made two AFCCG's with Kordell too, but according to alot Tomlin is doing so much more than he should be, and he shouldn't be expected to win a playoff game with the QB's he has.

Yeah probably.
Yet back then it wasn’t an excuse, fans were calling for Cowhers head too.
Too bad HOFer Ben and Mendenhall made costly mistakes in that SB vs the Packers. A winnable game.
Tomlin would have 2 under his belt just like a couple others with long tenures, namely Shula and Landry. Parcells had 2.

Make no mistake, as we are well aware Tomlins teams failed miserably as far as playoff appearances and playoff wins compared to those guys.
You could count on Dallas and Miami in playoffs every year under those guys.
