The DK Metcalf possible trade is more than just a rumor. The problem is SEA can’t do a trade unless it’s a June 1st designation because of cap implications. I don’t know if PIT will wait that long for a player, or Omar has something else in the works with another team.

I highly doubt “less to come hone” was ever put on the table.

More so, similar to what Ike said in a post about Metcalf having to wait for June 1st designate in order to cut his salary cap hit. That is a good possibility for the delay in trade Action.

More likely the FO had an eye on a bigger trade…….

Metcalf, is a better route runner and older, more experienced. Sutton follows the same template, but older. Metcalf and Pickens AND Muth gives huge targets with speed on the outside. If Wilson excels in the slot like he did in college, Arthur Smith‘s scheme (with two TEs) as base allows the offense to be unpredictable (as coached in TEN) in 11, 12 and 13 personnel. Although, would still like to see the Pony backfield with Najee and Warren, and Warren in motion with another slot opposite. Those speed guys would give the off ball LBs and outside DBs fit while covering them, under play action.

Yep…..we get tons of Seattle games here. The most bone headed penalties. He’s far from perfect,but definitely can be a total beast. Having the most underrated WR in the NFL next to him certainly helped. Obviously the contract is big. Just wonder what it would take to get him.

The X is typically your best receiver, an alpha who can beat press coverage off of the line and get open on any pattern. Pickens is that guy for the Steelers right now, and yes, Metcalf is also currently an X. If they are planning to use Roman Wilson in the slot, then what the Steelers need is a solid Z receiver. The Z can line up off the line of scrimmage and typically isn't asked to win press matchups, but they often can also stretch the field at times like an X does.
