Welcome to Draft day 2025

So the main site had an article saying the steelers werent going qb till 6th or 7th... seems like they were right...

Honestly, before Wilson and Fields both dipped, this was what i thought they would do anyway

This homer is really liking this draft, no curveballs. Solid tough players who will contribute. Throw in Metcalf as well.

Hard to call it a luxury pick when the team rarely gets through half the season without Watt or Highsmith injured multiple games.

This ^^

Add to that the fact that Watt and Highsmith are more likely to get dinged up if they have to be on the field 65 plays per game.

It's great that our offense has been so awesome that we can completely neglect it in the draft and free agency

They drafted a RB in round 3;
Traded their 2nd round pick for a WR;
Attempted to sign multiple QB's in free agency;
Even if he's not a hall of famer they did sign a QB in free agency.

That is not completely neglecting the offence in the draft and free agency.

We used our 2nd and 3rd picks on offense. Have to remember the DK trade.

The way to make our D cheaper is to use some good draft capital on D. We've had O focused drafts for years now. D needs new blood. Particularly on DL.

IMO it's kind of hard to get upset about picks this late in the draft. Really just looking for guys who can make the roster and hopefully contribute to ST. Any O or D snaps from 5th round + guys is a bonus.

Huh? They added DK Metcalf, Kaleb Johnson, and Kenneth Gainwell. Last year they drafted Fautanu, Frazier, and McCormick, Jones the year before. They have George Pickens and recently re-signed Freiermuth and spent a third on Wilson last year.

I'm thinking next picks will be best available at DB, OL, WR. I can see them taking a TE if there's one they like. SMith's system is TE dependent. They can use another guy if there's somebody who can block on the board. Maybe they take a QB

So before all this offseason stuff really started, I wasted the draft to play out as DL in the first, Wr in the second, RB in the third, then DL again in the 4th... then a Wr abd QB later..
when the qb stuff didnt pan out, i figured we would get a qb in the 3rd or 4th

I am quite pleased how its working out...

Look, we traded for Metcalf with the pick id have used on a wr , but he is damn good.
We drafted one of the DL i really liked in the 1st, Black in the 5th was a guy I was taking a round higher in movks... an actual NT type...
the RB wasnt the guy I would have taken, but I mean he fits what harris was giving us...
i mean the 4th on an edge wasnt a priority, but its a fourth... its where the (low) rounds really start.. teams cut 4th rounders all the time.. if they felt they needed a run stopping edge instead of a st ace.. that is cool.. plus they drafted a guy i wanted in the fourth in the fifth.. so it didnt matter, I guess

The rest of the draft is gravy. Id like a backup/ high risk/ high reward QB and a guard and maybe a developmental wr
