What can be done to fix the defense?

I'd love to see a 4-2-5 nickel with the best 6 possible up front on 3rd and 3-6 yard situations.

Tuitt/ Hargrave/ Alualu/ Heyward

Watt and either Chick or Dupree

And send at least 4!!!

Ummmmmmmm. Tom Brady would say "We need to score more points than the other guy"...................

FIVE WIDE *******

Ok. First of all, Davis had 1 dumb penalty all night. The hit oob was dumb. But the "suplex" was a bad call by refs trying to be way over-protective. He did have some coverage and tackling lapses but so did everyone else.

Burns didn't commit a PI penalty all night unless the Ravens LB committed PI on Bell in the end-zone. If THAT wasn't PI then certainly Burns wasn't commiting PI. And ic Wallace doesn't make a couple of offensive tackles in fhe game Burns gets an int as well. So enough Burns Sucks ****.

On the last sack, they moved Watt to Bud's side and had Deebo in the game on his normal side. There could be more of that moving forward.

I'm not going to say it's going to happen, but there was a game against New England in 2009 or 2010 when we had a lot of linebackers hurt (Woodley, Timmons, Harrison or something to that effect) and that was the first time in a bazillion years Lebeau played almost all dime defense against Brady and we pressed everyone and won pretty easily.

I think against New England it is pretty much a no brainer at this point we are going to play almost all nickel and probably a lot of dime as well. Not sure the Moats/Spence thing worked or they earned themselves more snaps.

I think you're going to see a lot of 3 DL, 2 OLB and 6 DB's. We might not play any inside linebackers at all. Dare them to run up the middle on us.

They did trot out a big dime with Gay playing as a LB and another linebacker and Hargrave stayed in.. one was the zone blitz that saw hargrave trying to cover the back..the other three times it was successful

The other move designed to help replace Shazier was what I'll call the "Big Dime," in which Will Gay patrolled the middle of the second level, but without an inside linebacker next to him. Instead, nose tackle Javon Hargrave stayed in the game. In the plays that I noticed "Big Dime," the Ravens gained 22 yards on a first-series completion, and then threw two incompletions with T.J. Watt pressuring Joe Flacco each time.

Sorry there was no ILB just gay.

Pretty much doesn't matter what the defense does against the Pats*****. Defense isn't going to win this game for us. Killer Bees better count on scoring at least 45.

While I like the thinking, this 3-2-6 would give Brady too much time to throw. Maybe if we had Haden back at 100% we could try this.

I think we are better off trying to get pressure up the middle so a 4-2-5 with just Watt and Williams at LB might be better. Williams is a good blitzer up the middle which is where Brady hates to be pressured, and Watt decent in coverage or as an extra man to rush on the edge. One very under rated thing about Watt is he jumps well and has long arms, two pluses in coverage

Heyward, and Tuitt MUST play well, and it would be nice if Hargrave adds a bit. Tyson A is pretty good as well, so consider him a starter in the 4-2-5.

Even on the hit oob, if he lets up before he gets there, the RB decides not to step oob and blows over him.
