At his presser today?

How about, "What can you say to the 90% of Steelers nation who don't want you as coach?"

Are yinz prepared to cut off your eyelids?

When you paint a barn what type of a brush do you use?

How do you plan on plugging the holes on this current team? Are you going to lean heavier on the draft or FA?
How involved will you be with the draft and FA?
Have you evaluated from a distance where the team needs to improve?
Will your schematics and schemes for both offense and defense be a drastic change from what we’ve seen under the previous regime?

Will you throw the ball to the middle of the field....

I want to know:
-What is it like to be the head coach for three of the most historic and successful franchises in the NFL?
-The last three Steelers coaches have all won a Super Bowl, does this add to the pressure to win a championship?
-The Steelers have gone 9 years without a playoff win, what type of pressure do you feel to change the lack of postseason success?
-The offense has ranked as one of the worst in the post-Ben era. What is the plan to improve the offense, particularly what is your vision at QB?
-Last season the defense was hyped as a "historic" defense and underachieved, how do you maximize the talent on this side of the ball?
-What is your timeline for having a staff in place?
-Training camp has been known to be physical in nature under Cowher and Tomlin, what do you plan for camp?
-Has Tomlin or Cowher reached out to you?
-Did you tell Art what he wanted to hear just like you did in Dallas with Jerry Jones in regards to watching every play?

They should have had you conduct the interview process we at least know you would have been thorough. 👏

Will you have final say on the draft picks or will Khan??

What's Priority #1??

Will you have a person assigned to the challenge flag issues?
Will you get a good Oline and Dline coach?
Will you get specialist coached for the other positions, not just your buddies to do it?
So you know what a play action pass is?
How do you feel about having two D linemen as your base defense?
Can you document when you have made in-game and/or halftime adjustments?
Do you know how to play to exploit another team's weaknesses?

McCarthy would "definitely" want Aaron Rodgers back at QB. He says he's spoken to Aaron and thinks the time away is important.

McCarthy likes the roster, particularly the defense (said Alex Highsmith is in attendance). He'll stick with the 3-4.

What have you learned from your time in Green Bay and Dallas that makes you a better head coach in 2026 for the Steelers?

Finally, the playoff drought question. Mentioned about the trends of the 4th-quarter momentum shifts--we've seen these crazy endings. Talking about training the team needing to prepare for the end of the game.

McCarthy definitely observes NFL trends like you and I rather than an analytics approach.
