If you go back to football move, it will be a **** show of fumble no catch. I can live with some version of survive the ground but teaching the ball has to be a second act seperate from surviving the ground.

This game proves once and for all how bad the rule as is , is. Love that the Pats had called against them what they had called for them four times this year. NFL needs to seriously look at the biggest rule injustice there is.

Im ok with more fumbles. Its deciding if it was one. I remember that became a total nightmare a while back.

The rule should be, if the player catches the ball, its a catch, if they don't catch it, it isn't a catch, its really not that difficult. There wasn't this problem before instant replay.

Papillon

Drop the mic. Two feet down with possession. Let the officials on the field determine whether it was possession or not. It didn’t get complicated until we tried to take judgement out of the equation.

Why do officials get to use their judgement I. Determining what is pass interference, but supposedly shouldn’t do that in determining possession? Makes no sense.

Exactly. The announcers were saying what a great game this was while I thought it kind of sucked.

Get used to it, if you are going to watch entertainmentball. Defense has all but been removed from the game, now it is all about offense for the fantasy crowd. I decided a couple years ago to let them have it, I am a much better father/husband because of it. We spent the afternoon painting the basement, the game was on, but didn't really pay much attention to it.

The main problem I have is that they have different rules for a runner than they do for a receiver. A runner can drop the ball after crossing the goal like but a receiver can't.

I think now that the cheaters have lost on the biggest stage of the NFL despite how they were hand cradled along to get there, kr*ft has used up or the NFL is done helping them. Next year the cheaters will have to reley more on their own cheating so the play sheet stealing / locker room mic'd up / radio sets malfunctioning / etc. will have to be brought back big time. The cheaters became somewhat taking the officiating "help" for granted and will find themselves more on their own. I think the league wants Lance to retire as they know this **** show is killing fan retention which translates to TV ratings. **** the cheatriot entire franchise..........................

It's ******* simple, possession, two feet down, it's a damn catch, that is something that can clearly be seen on a replay, take the stupid judgement call out of it

I was just going to post the exact same thing. I don't know why it is so hard. I mean, the ground can't cause a fumble, but it can cause an incomplete pass. Stupid.

Coincidentally, I think the SBNation article spells out our thoughts fairly well....

4. The Zach Ertz touchdown stings

Steelers fans were watching Zach Ertz score the go-ahead touchdown, and the review which took place shortly thereafter. It looked very similar to the overturned Jesse James touchdown and, although Ertz took more steps to establish himself as a runner, watching the NFL uphold the call on the field made you wonder what might have been if James’ touchdown had stood too. Yes, I’m crying over spilled milk...

Yep.
Whether the ball is in the possession of a runner or receiver should be irrelevant.
The object of the ****** game is for the nose of the ball to be at some point over the goal line., whatever happens after that is irrelevant.

The Eagles should send Jesse James a hat and cap. If it wasn't for his overturn TD, who knows what would have been called.

They wernt similar at all. Two different plays.

College doesnt seem to have the same controversy surrounding this. Maybe they need to look at their rules.
