What's the point of showing up?

I think Harris or even Archer can manage to match his output vs the Ravens this season... this is going to be pass first again...

Maybe match Bells production rushing....what about receiving though? Blocking?

It hurts their chances greatly. Any time you become a one dimensional team in the post season it's bad. I'm not really interested in seeing the Ravens unleash the hounds every play because they aren't scared of the running game.

Given the state of their secondary, if they unleash the hounds on every play, they may find out that dog won't hunt. All I keep hearing about is our weaknesses. What about theirs? How about their patchwork offensive line? What about the fact that Forsett (sp) has been banged up himself? How about their weakened secondary? Their QB is Joe FUKKN Flacco for chrissakes.

All this doom and gloom bullshit. They are still the Rats and our guys are still THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS!!!

EDIT: **** the Rats!!!! Here We GO STEELERS!!!

Do you know how many rushing yards Bell had yesterday?

20...thats right, 20!

Almost any backup could get 20 yards rushing in a game.

I think we'll be OK.

I'm not worried about not having bell, i am worried what the coaches will do with out bell. Seems like the coaching staff went to panic/stupid mode after bell went down. Hopefully they settle down and don't freak out.

I agree and it would be a nice surprise if Haley actually game planned a set that Archer could be productive in. Something like a read option that would put him in space while making the Rats decide to commit one way or the other.

how would we install the read option in less than a week? Also Archer has had a few chances this season and he flat out dropped the pass.

Except for yesterday when he caught both passes he was targeted on. Not saying that means the kid is going to explode onto the scene in week 18. Just giving him credit for the two things he did correctly.

5 WIDE *******!!!

What Spike said.

The worst thing the Steelers could do is come out and pretend they can still run the ball and waste a half trying to prove it in a punt fest.

If I was play-calling I'd throw to Heath 30 times in the 1st half.

Archer needs to touch the ball 6-8 times, with none of those being handoffs. He's not going to be effective in traffic. You have to get him the ball in space. Pitchouts, quick passes into the flat, etc. As much as they shouldn't have used a 3rd round pick on him, you know if he was in NE, they would be getting some use out of him.

It's the playovs, the Rats are our biggest rival, and have a weak pass defense. Our D is finally getting it together. I think the Rats get *** raped.

(Bonus karma points for anyone who gets the Roy Blount reference.)

If that is true Fister Wallace in the game could be huge!

This is due to defenses keying on him. He also had something like 80 yards receiving. Running a heavy dose of Josh Harris might be the key saturday night, as im sure the ratbirds wont sell out to stop the run if Bell doesn't play.

We have the league's leading qb and WR, **** what the rat birds do or don't do, they should fear our passing game, not us fearing what they will or won't do.

Broncos and Patriots may want to stay at home too as they are without their top running backs...but seriously, our passing game is more than enough to dominate the Ravens if they give Ben time to throw and Wheaton and Bryant are on point.

I wouldn't discount Moore either, he's played in a lot of big games too.

The point of showing up is that I will be in the stands getting rowdy providing an added member of the 12th man. Steelers home playoff game! He'll yeah!

hopefully with a few to 15 beverages before heading in?

Our passing game should be enough to beat the Ravens, sure

But all season, we've been seeing our passing game against defenses that are forced to respect Le'Veon Bell, whether he's putting up big #s in the game or not.

Keys to beating the Rats:
Protect Ben
Protect the football. The Rats live off turnovers.
Shadow Torrey Smith and Smith Sr. They draw PI calls like nobody's business.
Smack Flacco early and often. He just hates it when his jersey gets dirty.
And in the infamous words of "Primetime" Deon Sanders: "Steelers, just do what you do"!

I think that is the crux of the matter and Cope goes into some detail in another thread.

Without Bell in the backfield, the D doesn't have to worry as much about whoever is there. Changes what they can do and allows them a little more freedom.

We can still win, but it will be tougher.

Jeepers, what made yaz think this would be a blow out easy game? With Bell here, fully healthy, this game would not be an easy blow out. With him gone, still a VERY winable game. Local meadia sould have a finger waved at them, shame shame shame. I haven't heard any talk of the STEELERS can't win without L.Bell. I don't live near there at all, but still. Our boys are going to play the game and I like our chances. Look at it this way, can our defense beat their offense, YES. Can our offense, with out Bell, beat their defense, YES. It will be harder, but we have the tools needed. Our QB is playing way way above what they have as a QB. If you haven't noticed, our DBs are NOT as big a liability, as they once were. Our OL is playing their best of the season and I'll take that. ONCE again, who is scared?
