wasn't there another QB from ND drafted in the third round long ago that had some good results?Give me Howard in the third please.

My sentiments too Zona. This has got to be the most disinterested, boring offseason for me that I can remember. I keep on checking in here to see if there’s anything new,but nada. This Rodgers situation has been absolute BS. If ever this franchise needed some fresh air/shakeup it was now. I can see me saying the exact same thing next season.Drafting a QB is always a gamble, but is there one that really stands out as worth the risk?
Option 3 may make the most sense, although they might lose out on premium pick in a position they really need.
Got to be honest, this is the first year that I can remember in a long time that I'm not all that excited about the draft.
It’s been a very blah type of offseason for me. Absolutely sick and tired of the Rodgers fiasco for starters. We’ve done very little in FA other than trading for Metcalf.
I suppose the big news now is we have to overpay TJ because the Haslams are ******* morons for resetting the edge rusher market. Geez, that’s twice now these idiots reset a position. First with Watson and now with Garrett.
I could not care less what his prospect ranking was out of high school. He did not live up to it. He is ranked behind many others for a reason.Howard is not the guy, watched every play all year. That offense was a cheat code, he was a passenger.
Ewers played the last 12-13 games with a bad oblique injury and still put up good numbers and led his team to the final 4. I think he’s severely undervalued. This is totally subjective but he just looks like an NFL QB out there the way he runs the LOS, carries out fakes, distributes the ball accurately and efficiently, etc. As far as “not a good prospect”, he was the literally the top recruit of the 2021 class.

Don’t waste a pick on a QB this draft.
Too many holes and picks are a premium this year.
Trade TJ Micah snd Pickens for draft capital ..use that capital to move up in 2026 draft .. hopefully top three.
Ride Mason and whoeveroff off scrap heap this season and hope for a 4-5 win season at most..
Select best QB available in 2026 draft .. hopefully Manning Jr.
if yinz want to even sniff a championship in next 3-5 years, this is the roadmap.
Not the most sexy thing in the world..but sometimes you need to dance with the ugly girl to get to the prom queen!

Well its obvious we are going to draft one sometime in this draft... so what is your guess?
Option 1 Trading up in the First round...
-this would mean giving up lots of premium assets for a qb you expect to be a long term solution...
Option 2 standing pat in the first round.
-this can mean drafting a top guy who is falling or reaching for a mid level prospect to make sure you get him
Option 3 trading down into the bottom of the first or second round.
-This gets you extra assets later in the draft, while still grabbing an upper mid tier qb prospect
Option 4 in the third round.
- a gamble that one of the better guys is still on the board by now
Option 5 the 4th round
-the first round of the third day is often where a higher level expected qb prospect falls to... you may need to trade up to grab them though... they usually go high on this day
Option 6 the 5th round
-basically, you are in backup territory here... its not really where teams swing for the fences on a high risk/ high reward guy... they are looking for safe stable backup types..
Option 7 the 6th round.
-The sixth is where you really go for broke on guys who need some work, but could pay off big... again this is like shooting for a starter three or four years down the road
Option 8 the 7th round...
if someone lasts till the 7th, its not because teams have any hope for them... if there was an inkling of hope, they went in the sixth... the seventh is where you find camp arms that may be practice squad guys for a while before contributing... Well unless your system can make a bum like Purdy into an imaginary star, lol.. ours cant

Detroit Lions quarterback Hendon Hooker remains an NFL unknown. A third round pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, Hooker has appeared in only three games, completing six of nine passes for 62 yards.
Hooker has good size, at 6’3” and 220 lbs. He was an accomplished quarterback at a major college program, passing for more than 11,000 yards and 80 touchdowns at Tennessee, with only 12 interceptions. He added 25 rushing touchdowns.
After adding reliable backup quarterback Kyle Allen this offseason, the Lions have seemingly replaced Hooker as Jared Goff’s backup. Now is the time to find a quarterback-needy team and sell Hooker’s upside, hoping to get the best return possible.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team desperate for a quarterback. They are holding out hope Aaron Rodgers delays retirement another season and graces the team with his play. If the Steelers miss out on a quarterback in the first round of the Draft, April 24, even if Rodgers decides to play, Detroit should package Hooker and its fourth round pick (#130 overall) and secure Pittsburgh’s third round pick (#83 overall). If the Steelers balk at the deal, package Hooker and pick 102 in the third round for the Steelers’ third rounder and a later round pick. Other teams, such as the Browns, Giants, Jets, Saints and Seahawks are all possible trade partners, too.
Well hes got me on ignore so he can’t read mine.He can't read
Interesting take from a site/source not Steelers...
It's not gonna happen with Clown-lin running things. It's just not. This team will never get to the point where Cowher got us to begin with, never.Don’t waste a pick on a QB this draft.

ha! no, i'd not give a third for him. especially since, like you said, he cant beat out our 3rd QB last season nor even knock-kneed Bridgewater last season. But, a trade for him? hell yes.So the guy who just lost his job to our qb3 last year is worth a third?
He has thrown a whopping 9 passes in two years... Good gosh there should be an Iq test given before people can have internet access..., just everything that gets posted should have the authors IQ right there for the world to see...
Haslams did not reset the market. That was done by the Raiders in March with Crosby. Garett got a little more than Crosby, but is also a better player. It’s been a very blah type of offseason for me. I don't know; we need a DL and a RB by the 3rd round, assuming Rogers will be our tape and glue for QB in '25.Interesting take from a site/source not Steelers...
That’s not true. Myles Garrett got 40 million per season which is 5 million more per season than Crosby got at 35 million per season. So Haslam giving Garrett an additional 5 million per season with more guaranteed money reset the market for edge rushers.Haslams did not reset the market. Crosby was highest paid non QB when he signed. I would say that is setting the market. Garrett is 1st or 2nd at his position depending who you ask so of course he would get more, but the raiders set the starting price for elite rushers. That’s not true. They did the same thing with Deshaun Watson a few years ago with a guaranteed contract of 250 million.
You’re ******* arguing just to argue. It doesn’t matter where you rank either player. The Browns paid Garret five million more per season than Crosby. Yes, originally the Raiders set the market but Haslam reset it by 5 million per season.
TJ is averaging like 28 million per season. Had Haslam just signed Garret to the same amount as Crosby at 35 million, that’s where we’d be now with trying to resign TJ. Since Haslam decided to reset things, now to keep TJ we will have to pay him 40 million and not 35 million.
Do you understand now?
