Where's our NEW GM??? Bye bye Mr. Colbert...

We all know the Steelers did need to make a move for a QB the 1st round was not the time to do that. I also hope it works out if not we will be here in 4 years.

They would need a trade partner to make that happen, and who know, they may have tried, not running to the podium like they always do.

I thought they'd take McDuffie or maybe Booth.
They may not have run to the podium, but Pickett says they called him to tell him he was their guy as soon as the Saints' pick was announced.
Colbert said they received offers to move back, but they weren't worth it. Looking at what was given for moving from 21 to 29, I find it hard to believe a move like that wasn't worth it.

the front office was just in a panic all year “who’s going to replace Ben” lots of hand ringing lots teeth gashing… the whole nfl was doing it!! … they sold themselves on pickett months ago. They are going to learn the hard way you dont replace Ben you have let picks come to you and move on… I predict right now Pickett can’t beat out trubisky this year and with a loaded offense when is he going to beat him out? This is like chargers drafting rivers when they had Brees imagine if chargers drafted Larry Fitzgerald? Brees, LT, Gates, Fitzgerald? These front offices over think things. the fact is defense still wins championships we don’t have a championship defense.. the bungals, chiefs any good offense can slap this defense around… can’t get off the field on third down. trubisky will start, offense will be fine, and the defense with “coach” calling the plays will get ***** slapped round! lots of hand ringing lots of teeth gashing lots of I told you so by people who actually were all down with drafting kenny. that’s next season in a nutshell.

I don’t like the pick. But after reading and listening, I understand the pick a bit more.

Same here. Last year's performance is hard to discount. The 3 years before that weren't all that though. Change in coaches/personnel?

Someone who's watched him consistently should know the answer to this question.

No one has any idea how any of these picks will work out. We can argue that Kenny was a bad pick all day but we won’t know for a couple seasons. I’ll tell you this much, I’ve read some of his interviews and he’s very well spoken and talks about his obsession with working hard to get better every year. The guy had a great season at Pitt playing against top competition and soon to be 24 is already a mature young man. I think what you get with Kenny is a leader, a guy that will always give 100% and will obsess over improving his game. I think you’re going to see a QB that’s a film junkie, who works hard and will surprise many so called experts.
Btw, I would love to have read Aaron Rodgers bio when he was drafted 24 by the Packers.
No I didn’t want a QB and would have preferred waiting to see how Mitch played, but I will fully support Kenny and want him to play lights out.

Having Addison as a weapon helped him a lot. There's a WR to keep an eye on. I also think Mark Whipple had an influence on his success.

I know I'm pissed off and this is no secret - I don't like the pick of Pickett. Where's our new GM???

ARRRRRGGGHH!!!

where's Lloyd?

Where is Lloyd, you said he be long gone. Could have had him. Growl a bit louder. I would call Picket a 1 year wonder like Joe Burrow expect he played 3 other seasons of ball, and they were mediocre.

I'm not sold on him.

Even I can be wrong sometimes...

An ode to Berm. Hang in there buddy:

Well, now I feel much better.

And you know I just have fun razzing ya Berm. Stock up on Tito's this weekend and hope for some great picks the rest of the way.

Freakin' bunch of Mormons.

Kidding my fellow Mormon amigos.

Why is this troll thread not closed? Don't like our QB or GM? No problem. There are 31 other teams that you have the option of being a fan of.

Don't let the door hit ya on the way out, bitterudasteel.
Bob simmer down your coksucker is working overdrive.

A troll complaining about what he thinks are troll threads, priceless.

Bob, you really are a cuck boy b!tch. Berm was here when you were a kid jacking off to the men's tight undies section of the Sears catalog.

You are assuming

Assuming he has stopped.

I've warmed to the pick and that's all I can do. I'm glad it wasn't Willis, but was hoping our pick wasn't a QB to begin with, but he's a Steeler now, so LET"S GO KENNY!!!! I hope he is Ben 2.0 and is here for 10+years slinging TDs and making us proud seeing #8 on the field.
As far as the new GM, I'd expect an announcement in a week or two, after the draft is over and every pick is over analyzed.

Oh look - a post I missed.

You putrid attempt at providing me a nickname has failed. I was going to leave you alone but since you poked the bear---here we go...

Let's see - "Ballz Deep" - not an impossible nickname to have when you have a two inch dick. No one AND I MEAN NO ONE HERE cares about your sexual preferences and tendencies. You see, we've seen "you" in many different forms in the past---under numerous pseudonyms---most recently Backdoor Butternut Bob. Does that ring a bell???

Are you mad? Do you want to step?

No one here is coming on your job - kicking dicks out your mouth - so, either chill out or get the **** out because you're wearing out your welcome.

Now take your purdy mouf back on the corner and get to work...

Steelers have been quiet about who makes the actual call but it seems apparent that Tomlin gets the last word on the top picks, unless Rooney now intervenes in recent years. It's been that way since Cowher had the last GM fired and installed Colbert not as GM but head of fotball operations or whatever his title was. Colbert didn't even have the title of GM until a few years ago.

Colbert coordinates the scouting, puts together the draft board and works with the bean counters to keep the cap in shape. Once the board is together, I believe it is Tomlin that makes the actual pick in the first few rounds.

Unfortunately,
C’mon Tape you know damn well how it’s been done since Chin and Colbert got together and it has continued seamlessly with Tomlin. Cowher and Tomlin has their input, Kevin has his and Dan (now Art2) all discuss and come to an agreement. Dan was the one who steered the conversation back to Ben when he was drafted. Cowher was adamant the need was Stacey Andrews, but not the best player or value at 11. Dan made sure they thought about it some more before selecting Ben. It’s been no different with To Lin, except his first draft, with Timmons.
