Who is NOT watching "draft" and why???????????????????????

I'll watch and pay close attention to the entire draft, as I have for the past 15-20 years. Given the time zone difference, following the Steelers has always been a late night affair from Europe. Rnd 1 starts at 2 am tonight, rnds 2-3 will start at 1 am Fri night, then Sat is more reasonable with a 6 pm start. Since I'm a night owl, I don't have a prob staying up, wife & kids are asleep, I can follow along online w headphones.

It's certainly a solitary, somewhat lonely hobby to have, and the late-late nights do get a little old, but it's a also a great way to research players, to get stoked about the flow of the draft, to see how players rise or fall, to see if the Steelers make a move or stay pat. Ultimately, it's a front row seat to the 2019 draft class becoming Steelers. I particularly like the live feeds from the Steelers draft room, where coaches & Colbert make their initial remarks after the rounds are over. I also enjoy the intense coverage first few days after the draft, as everyone scrambles to get a read on the players, their bios, and what type of fit they'll be.

For me, watching the Steelers make their picks is simply a fun, exciting aspect of being a life-long fan. It helps keep my optimism cranked up, that yes, this'll be the year everything falls into place!

As far as the particularities, I pray we land an ILB to finally deal with losing Shazier. I also see no good reason we can't come out of this draft with a solid corner, safety and possibly an edge guy to push Dupree. WR depth looks pretty solid on the board, there are a few mid round guys I think could help us. TE seems a bit murky but perhaps the Steelers have ID'd a couple of guys they like. All in all I trust the process, despite a few swings and misses by Tomlin & Colbert. I try to keep in mind Colbert may be thinking ahead a year or two with some of these picks, for instance if they see a blue chipper for the O-line who may be BPA in a given round.

For those following along tonight and beyond, enjoy the ride and remember to tamper your knee-jerk reactions as you realize the Steelers are picking off their own draft board, not yours, or ESPN's, or the draft pundits'. ;)

I stopped caring about the draft around 2013. Used to buy TMC's books.

I think that is a lot of people's date as that's near when the new format started........... I could be off a couple years but that would allow for one to decide if they like the new crap or NOT.

I wish TMC would at least pop in for his likes. Now that is a damn good draftnik.

TMC made the "DRAFT" a part of his life. He was VERY knowledgeable and his post(s) have a LOT of backed truth to them. NOT trying to build a pedistal but he was pretty spot on a lot. I thanked him then and I thank him now. One from the past of MANY both current and past, who make this the best place for now ledge of STEELERS any & everything.

Me ... why do they need to do it PRIME time on a Thursday night -- uggg

I honestly enjoy it more every year. Got all my necessary provisions for the night.

I DVR it and am not glued to just the draft; I will still channel surf and all that, but the draft will be my prime viewing event of the night. Hey, it's better than NBA playoffs and the ratings illustrate that.

No. Takes too long and I was diagnosed with adult onset ADD last year. Seriously, I take meds for it. Watched The Sopranos pilot episode and now Hannity.

...Dropping cable this week. I signed up for YouTube TV which gives about 70 channels...

Wife and I dropped DirecTV dish service last month and haven't missed it for a second. Lowered our monthly TV bill by nearly 50 percent. Like you, we got YouTube TV. I'm not getting a few channels that I was before, including NFL Network, and AT&T SportsNet Southwest (that carries the Astros and Rockets). But that's OK. Nice to get rid of all the extra equipment, too.

Liberation from T.V. Is awesome or should I be more specific in "LIBERATION FROM T.V. Bills" is Awesome. I made that decision about 4 1/2 years ago and haven't looked back since. Got rid of a $260.00 cable bill in exchange for a $11.00 Netflix & $99.00 annual game pass subscription. That's it. I have an Apple TV streamer and get other FREE stuff as well. I have to finish hooking up FREE antenna and will get a few more channels but hey, LIFE is GREAT.

I just started a new book so I sat down to read with Yahoo Sports draft coverage streaming in the background ......and just like that it was over for Pittsburgh till what.....late tonite ?

TV isn't the only source for the "DRAF" news fix. slash reffered to around 9:20 ish and I took that as near STEELERS time. I logged on here near that time and was presently surprised with our 1st round pick and action to get him. (Thanks slash) also I might mention that I find more GREAT news worthy information here than any ONE SPOT else on the interweb.

I had the draft on. Was up and about in another room and hear "STEELERS" and once the trade was announced I knew we had Bush. High level of excitement that the FO went out and made a bold trade to get a glaring need and a great player.

Yes. I have the attention span of a chipmunk. Was trying to study for my life insurance exam and that lasted 15 minutes.

That sucks. Try microdosing LSD. I had one normal dosing experience many years ago in college and I was able to study one pane of one page of a comic book for about 45 minutes.

That said, I hope not being able to focus on studying for a life insurance exam isn't your only data point. That sounds pretty normal.

Man I was right on something finally ! or at least close to it.

Tomlin is still the coach so it makes no difference who is drafted
Superbowl window is over, Once great franchise is going down like a sinking ship this year.
Steelers orginization put money over winning, they don't give a **** about winning, the players, or the fans.

I understand your feelings to a degree but why bother posting on a Steelers' board if you believe the above? I too feel somewhat hopeless with Tomlin still head coach, but I am hoping for a bit of luck to overcome him. We did have 2008.

I have a friend that swears by microdosing. He started working in the office instead of on the semi engines themselves and was having trouble. Started microdosing and he said you barely notice anything, but by the end of the day if you think back, the day was just...easier and had more of a flow.

IF you went KAYAKing up here with a certain dude,..........he'd probably kick your azZ too..!!!!!!! J/K

There isn't enough draw, other than the actual STEELERS pick, to get me to watch. They'll be rehashing the little chest stuff and Bell and who wants to listen to that bullshit again......... And don't forget t*mmy b*y has dry ball syndrome so they'll be licking them all day long too. I admire slash of his FULL bORE approach and it kind of reminds me of the good O'l days.

So for those of you who watch,.... I get it and also for those of you who chose NOT to watch, I get that too. EITHER way I hope all come here to read and contribute to the discussion,.......YES even Coach but that will be 30 days down the road................

Salute the nation

Aye! "Certain" people and their kayaking skills ;)

Needless to say gym and work have kicked my ***.
