Who is the QB for 2026 and beyond?

What would Tomlin do with the top talent……….???

Take that Rothlisberger kid when he came into the league. Cowher took him undefeated (13) games his rookie year. Gave him a Super Bowl his sophomore year.

The ONLY thing Cowher did Ben wrong was by retiring (not faulting Bill), in doing so he cost a strong potential of 2, but more likely 3 super bowls.

Is there anyone in their right state of mind that thinks Tomlin could even make a Super Bowl yet alone win it…… with his current coaching schematics and draft of talented players. Even the OLD players need talented youth mixed in, The team needs a non-grade-school scheme on both sides of the ball, to win a SB.

I’d fear the new talented QB would go to waste and ruined, similar to the last 1st round pick QB taken.

Obviously, new coach pick new QB.

Salute the nation
I really couldn't agree more. I usually say what I think they will do. We all know what they should do. And if they don't want to pull the plug this year which I don't see them doing.....draft non QB talent in April and leave the QB for the next staff. Play Howard.....and hey you never know.

I have a feeling that it could be Anthony Richardson in a trade with the Colts
Hope I’m wrong but just a feeling!
As it stands now, the Colts would be fortunate to obtain a fifth round pick, in addition to his poor performance so far, he actually asked to come out of a game because he was tired. Please no. Murray is another no, beside the ridiculous contract, injuries, inconsistent play and Doug Flutie stature, he appears disinterested at times especially when things aren’t going well.

There’s really only two options right now, go with Howard and/or draft someone that falls. Please don’t get into a bidding war in round one.

This is a good assessment of the situation and I agree about the draft pick. Currently, the Jets and Raiders are sure things. You are not crawling over them without selling the farm. This is why I don't celebrate off season moves that get them the 20th overall. The prudent move is to go with Howard and take lumps or hit paydirt. I highly doubt the Steelers look at it that way. Plus it will difficult to tell what exactly Howard is with Tomlin’s caveman football "Football for Dummies" approach.

I think Kyler could work. He is a better version of fields. His main issue is he can't stay healthy. I would not pay 20 million+ for Kyler so not sure what the asking price would be. Mac Jones looked horrible with the Pats, but good with 49ers. I think he would look more like the Pats version in our offense. Winston is like jekyl and hyde, but I think he would at least attempt to sling it around. I'd be fine rolling with Howard, but we need a vet unless we get hands on X / Os coaches. So far no one in college has seemed like a can't miss guy. We could take a flyer on someone but at this point i would not sacrifice the draft to move up for someone

Hard pass on Kyler

A guy who had to have study habits written into his contract because he is so averse to preparation is not the leader I’d be looking for. Dude even has stipulations for film review required, wth??? He’s relied solely on athletic talent, his unachieved ceiling shows.

I’ll take a season of Howard sight unseen before ever thinking of Kyler.

If I had to guess with Mason and Howard set to return they plug another veteran and a draft pick in the room and let the best man win.

I wouldn’t even have Kyler on my list

Bingo.

What QB, coming out, is better than Howard??? Even as a Bama homer, Simpson plays nearly just like him.

I fail to see the need to reach for a QB in the early rounds...

I would really like to see Howard get some playing time to see what he can do. I just like the kid, and he has the intangibles as a very good leader, and he won a championship with Ohio State. But, my guess is they will reach and draft someone this year in the 1st. If they miss the playoffs and end up around 15th or better, I definitely can see them trading up. This would suck, as it would give Howard almost no shot to play moving forward.

I don't like Richardson, but the whole narrative of him asking to come out is dumb. He took a sack then had a scramble. He was probably dinged up but didn't want to admit it. Other guys take breathers all the time I think him being benched fit that was bogus. As far as QB goes he is just not very good though

Under a Tomlin led team? None. Howard will be **** also most likely. In this O Brady, Manning, Brees etc all would flounder. Rodgers is now leading the league in the shortest pass per attempt or something like that. We reverted back to what we have done for the last 5 or 6 seasons. Until Tomlin adapts or we move on from him....there is zero reason to draft any QB that we think might actually be a franchise QB or even an average QB. It is what it is.
