With the draft under a week away, maybe it's time to make your prediction for the first round. For me personally, this is one of the most difficult first round predictions. A lot of uncertainty as to which players will be available and how that factors in with the needs of this team. They will usually not reach for a need, instead trying to stick to the BPA theory. Trades in the first are few and far in between with this team. I would assume this year will be no different. I will add this though. If there was ever a year to trade down in the draft, it is this year as there is a ton of value to be had in rounds 2-4. With that said, here's my prediction for round one...
1-25-Taylor Decker- Ohio State
I have a feeling that the players we've all been looking at in the first(Jackson, Apple, Billings, maybe even MacKensie) will be gone by the time the Steelers pick. Burns, Joseph, and Neal are possibilities but I think BPA will dictate this pick. Won't be popular with the fans but you end up taking a pretty good player in case Villanueva falters or there is an injury to OT. I've never bought into the thought that there is already a player at that position so they shouldn't make that pick. Adding a superior talent is still adding talent. So there you go. Who's your pick?
