Why keep going against history?

My opinion on this game is with the players we have and their inexperience Brady would have picked us apart as bad or worse if we tried to completely change our scheme like we did in the win in 2011. I do not like the play calling within the scheme we did run but also did not like the execution of those plays by the players. After nine weeks of running our defensive scheme we were not going to be able to totally change that in one week against a player like Brady and a cheater like Belicheat. I put the blame on this pretty 50/50 players and Coaches. It is not like we lost to the Browns.

Teams run both man and zone coverage interchangeably in game all the time. If our coaching staff thinks it can't be done than it speaks volumes about our coaching staff.

or players...or both

You tell me.. what happened on those Plays? Did we get close or did we give up more then we were when we weren't blitzing? I'm not sure. I am think one of the plays they blitzed was the Hogan TD in the end zone not sure

They did lose to a bunch of scrubs on offense minus Brady. That part is pathetic. Killed also by 10 yard cushions, slant patterns and a very soft zone in the middle of the field that had been around all season long. We've made some no named qbs look great the last few years playing that garbage. We just ran into the king of the 5-7 yard pass papercut master.

Agreed, but to not even attempt to go man coverage give how ineffective our zone defense had been. Could it have been any worse?

Running some man is different than running a man heavy bump and run particularly with young inexperienced DB's We don't regularly run enough man or even have enough variety of it in our regular gameplan to fool a QB and Coach like we were facing. Anyone who thinks we could have just thrown caution to the wind and gone bump and run every play and not get torched even worse is fooling themselves. when we did it in 2011 we had different personal who were mere experienced to be able to know where the help would be coming from.
I truly believe this as much about who we are currently personnel wise as it is scheme. My beef with the Coaches was the lack of creativity "within" our scheme.

We all have to remember it is not like this was some crappy team this was a team that regularly does this to everyone with few exceptions.

I am not a huge Butler fan. I think he is better suited as a position coach than a Coordinator.

o I agree one step from the Super Bowl u gotta throw out everything..

We played a ton of man, leading up to this game. Why can't we play man on these guys? Our DBs are bigger than their WR's, Burns has the speed to stay with Hogan or Edleman, it's not like you're playing press on Julio Jones.

Two things everyone knows, you have throw off Brady's timing with the WR's, and you have to get pressure on Brady, that ****** zone does neither of those things. Yes I agree Golden was ******* lost on that td, but if Golden is there, Brady had all day and would've moved on to the next guy that found the soft spot in that zone

lets be thankful that we didn't play the pats in 2005 & 2008 in the playoffs.
