Why not add a free-agent OL??

Mitchell Schwartz is an immediate upgrade if he’s healthy. Probably a few other options out there as well.
 
I’ve been asking the same question. Sounds like they are content letting these guys take their lumps and hopefully getting better.
 
I think Rick Wagner is still out there as well. He’s a RT only but graded out well last year for the Pack and was on a 2 year 11 million dollar deal. I bet we could snag him for 3-4 million considering he’d probably only play 12-13 games. Stop gap but would help sure up the right side and put the turn style Okafor on the bench.

PS I don’t have high hopes Banner is the answer whenever he comes back. And if it’s not for a month Roethlisberger might be dead by then.

No way Tomlin will not show anything that he drafted and signed ones not ready for prime time. The penalties alone this offensive line has had is an embarrassment and Tomlin well at least they do not show as yet to get in their faces chew some backside for it. Yes it may not be his style but maybe it should

Haeg played well enough while he was in there, and Tomlin really likes him. So I doubt they're looking at bringing in anyone else.
 
Why isn’t getting another center not talked about more? Green is not cutting it. I realize it’s hard to find someone off the street and plug them into center right away but can’t be much worse than what we have now.

I don't think Turner is the weak link. I am thinking right now it is Chuks and Green. I would rather they sit Green for now and when Banner is back sit Chuks.
 
I actually went on Mitch Schwartz twitter 2 weeks ago and told him to join us lol.

Finney filled in, pretty admirably IIRC, at Center, and guard, no? I know he’s older now, and not surrounded by the wealth of talent he had (Prime Decastro/Pouncey, Villanueva, and elder statesmen in Foster), or with the luxury of having an amazing position coach (Munchak) he once had, but he has familiarity with Ben, and would be a veteran presence up front. No way it would hurt to get him in there at least to see if it would benefit us. What am I missing on this one? I also second the emotion that I don’t think Banner is gonna do much to help improve this unit. As a matter of fact, I think their faith in him doesn’t exactly inspire any optimism considering they assembled the **** show that’s currently up there, and see no reason to bring in a guy like Schwartz or Wagner. Although, maybe Tomlin, and Colbert just ran out of more bullets during their meetings, and they just haven’t gotten around to it just yet.

That may be the case. BUT...there's 31 other teams in the NFL who haven't signed him (the same goes for the other names being thrown around) - that suggests either NFL decision makers don't rate these players as highly as you guys do or the players in question aren't willing to play for the money that is on offer (or for the teams that are interested in signing them) or it appears in Schwartz' case he still hasn't fully recovered from his injury.
 
just heard Tuitt is still a way away from being activated or in shape to practice. Without Tyson and them rotating Buggs and Wormsley neither have done a good at stuffing the gap and getting a double team, I was checking to see who is still available and last year Carl Davis played well for the pats is a massive DL 6"5 340 can help vs the run, other DL Peko another fat **** that on limited reps can do better than Chris at clogging the middle.
Chukes if he cant go is not meant for the right side he is a finesse agile OL who lacks just like AJ the strength to push in the run game.
I am hoping Banner is back maybe next week Haeg is a big physical OL rather him at Rt than Chukes start again at RT.
My 2 cents sign a vet RT and DT Carl Davis as Carlos Davis has been banged up unable to help cam and buggs, from how Wormley has played he is a big downgrade from Tyson, should sign a fat 1 gap DT
 
Sheldon Day is another name I thought Taco would thrive in the nfl after he was a beast at UM but i don't know if it's a learning curve or an attitude issue but if he can get his act together perhaps he can play 4-8 snaps at De in the nickel as a stand-up rusher. #99 Anthony DT played well as both as an undersized penetrating pass rusher and vs the run in the nickel, if Carlos Davis cant play vs GB he should dress and be used b/c teams are just doubling cam and Chris or any other DL get pushed and neither Bush nor Joe get a clean shot to the RB esp last week vs Mixon. There better be a good strategy to contain Jones
