Will Howard and Gruden

Mad is your dad? Has this been confirmed?

I can see the want to move up in the world, but I don’t see the want to raise the illegitimate…………. $$$

Keep hearing this crap & it is freakin' hilarious...People just gonna "DISREGARD" his National Championship run? WTF ?

But these same won't "DISREGARD" a practice passing drill...

Great logic here...So how you perform in practice is more important than leading your team to a National Championship Title run ?

"Practice ? Practice? We're talkin' bout practice man, practice man, we talkin 'bout practice"
- Allen Iverson NBA Basketball Legend

The drills are designed to put the QB in situation where he is not comfortable, moving while trying to establish his base before throwing, and then throwing to very particular spots that are not the planned route. That mimics the NFL since when a play breaks down and the QB moves around to gain some time, he will have to find a target in a spot other than what the routes called for and then need to stick the throw into a tiny window.

Howard struggled in the drills. He just did. That is not dispositive but not a great showing. If he nails the drills, he does not last until the 6th round so personally I'm glad he struggled.

Look, I like the kid, but lets not get too hyped about him just yet... he has a lot of flags that are gonna need worked out that were covered up by the overall talent level at Ohio State.

As a sixth round pick... he was a good get, but temper the expectations a bit ...

Yeah, agreed. I like the same things you do - Howard is experienced, succeeded against the toughest schedule in college football in 2024, is big, has acceptable arm strength.

I am also very happy that he will work to get better and take on whatever duties he is assigned without raising a stink and being a complete asshat, unlike what a certain late round pick from Colorado is likely to do.

His arm strength is fine. The small hand size thing is perpetually overrated to begin with, the Mechanics issues can all be fixed. These were all silly reasons his stock took a dip..

However, the questions are about him sitting on his primary wr too long and his instincts could be a sticking point to him starting... it took Landry Jones like 3 years to get past things like that...

agree. hope he can turn into a longtime steeler, but it'll prolly be as a backup. never know, hope for the best and am rooting for him.

It's a good watch. I especially like where Gruden hears he is like an assistant coach with teammates. Sometimes a young QB will relate better to a fellow player, much the same as Ben seemed to always lean on Batch when he was his backup. That could be the niche he carves out, and that could be a valuable role for him.
maybe he can coach up the OL a bit while he is nearby.
