Will Howard

Thinking round 2 is the highest for Nuss as his down year will impact him I am sure. If he is there in round 3 I pull that trigger..
Early in the year I tried to watch as many of these highly-rated QBs as possible and Nussmeier was so disappointing. Down year is an understatement, though McCarthy does have a loose connection with his dad, so maybe? Klubnik and Allar were two QBs the Steelers heavily scouted during the season, not that it means anything.

Nussmeier - Probably has the best football IQ, but is small and lacks any elite tools.
Klubnik - Has the edge on starting experience, but underachieved and lacks elite tools.
Allar - Has elite physical tools, but is inconsistent and doesn't have much mental toughness in big moments.

Round 3 you could have any of the three who do you take and why?

Im taking Haynes king in the 5th and making him slash. Flea flickers left and right
King had what like 5 INTs in one senior bowl practice? If we want to give the ball away we can just keep Rudy.

😅😇✌️

Nussmeier has the processing skills and is probably a fit in McCarthy's offense, but he's physically limited. I've seen him compared to Andy Dalton and a poor man's Baker Mayfield. No slight on either player, they can take a team to the playoffs. Give me Allar and hope they can coach some mental toughness and put the physical tools together with the processing part of the game. I suppose I'd rather swing for the fences at this point of the draft rather than try to hit a single. Neither would prevent me from taking a QB early next year either.

Very well spoken young man. Sounds smart.
Enjoyed when he drew up and described a play on the board at 12:00.

At 17:45…. “How the hell do people not like you as the #1 QB in the draft?” - Gruden
At 16:50 compares him to Josh Allen. Identical size.
Thats enough. I’m sold on the guy!

Mason Rudolph is the same size as Josh Allen. C'mon.

Haley says Howard more than likely is not the guy...nothing against Howard he says it's just the nature of the beast. A Tom Brady in the 6th round is like winning the powerball, as far as odds go. They talk about it from the 4:00 minute mark on.

There is ZERO actual player evaluation in this video. Cliff Notes: He was drafted in the 6th round so it's very unlikely he's gonna be the guy. Thanks Sherlock Haley!

My only problem with drafting a QB in 2026 is that it almost ensures we won't in 2027. I know these things change every year but next year will have Moore, Sellers, Sayin, and Manning at a minimum.

That's why I'd give Howard a chance this year, if we hit the lottery, no need to pick another. If not, much better class projected to come out the next year.
