We saw it happen with the Ravens and Flacco.
Yeah but people have to understand the difference between a regular QB and a hall of famer like a Manning or Brees or that level of QB … a real Franchise QB is worth the money because they can add wins without a really good team around them… ben won in 2008 despite a ****** line… the offense wasn’t great in 2010 either.. flacco needed a complete team around him to win… you can’t pay that kind of guy franchise QB money… like patrick Mahomes and the chiefs will be competitive regardless of the money they pay him… lamar Jackson probably not so much…

Every single nfl team is going to have an overpaid guy on it… its just a question of whether they accurately pay the guys who are really difference makers or if they are paying guys who are just better than average guys…

Brees won one Super Bowl. Manning ONLY got one with Indy. A Hall of Fame QB that takes up so much salary cap is no guarantee of winning Lombardis.

I suppose it's a matter of what your goals really are.

I think the point madinsomniac is making is that a franchise QB being paid like one can mask and cover weaknesses within the team / coaching etc.. Payton Manning could do that. BEN did it regularly so much that it allowed an average coaching staff reach great success (Coaching gets credit too).

Flacco could not carry a flawed team, I also don’t think Action Jackson could either. I’m all for them paying Action as if he can.
