With Emmitt Smith On the Board The Steelers Traded the Pick to Dallas

Eric Green was a great pick. That guy could have been a hall of famer. He was just lazy. When he felt like it he was dominant. If i recall, he used to hold out most seasons and then he'd report without a new deal just after training camp closed.
He also had big man ankle syndrome… big dudes aren’t built to run fast and a lot of them have early ankle issues … like he did in miami… the Steelers were better at cutting bait early on guys back then

If i had one vote for most overrated rb of alllllllll time, man it would be hard to decide between Emmitt Smith and Terrel Davis… both were good backs made great by their offensive lines and hall of fame qbs beside them… seriously swap Barry sanders onto last years lions squad and he probably leads the league in rushing… swap Smith onto any other team and he is basically Freddy Taylor ( who should probably be in the hof btw) smith never got touched in the backfield

Same with Bettis vs Davis…Bettis played with a qb nobody feared as a passer and through a downplase in the Steelers line for a couple years… he faced more loaded boxes than a male stripper at a bachelorette party… he made his own yards… Davis enjoyed the tail end of a hall of fame qb as well as a brilliant and borderline dirty novel blocking scheme that took defenses years to figure out… every time he went down with injury his backup would excel as well…

Davis made tge HOF because he burned so bright in a couple of years… but there is almost no way he makes it had he been drafted anywhere else and had tge same injury history
