Wlad Putin has little time left to live.

I always find it fascinating when Sage or others of the like chime in to give expert knowledge…not that I think this is fun or entertaining, just having the insight and knowledge I find fascinating.
I am not thinking that you are talking to me, but I will say that we are stuck believing sources. Fortunately, in the cyber age, there are many sources with differing agendas, so we can weed through the muck and arrive at some logical conclusions. Or not.

No no no. My point was I know Sarge is Military and he has more first hand knowledge or insight than me and or what I can read on the bs websites. Hearing his or others account and knowledge I hold more true than elsewhere.
No dig at you.

I didn't think it was. Sorry if that was not clear.

I am happy that Ukraine is kicking Russia's *** with the billions of dollars worth of military equipment we have given them. They likely couldn't do it without it. That said, we are in the process of severely weakening our own military. All of that equipment was taken from active and national guard units, taken to a huge military base, given a technical inspection and repairs to be made fully mission capable and put on a boat and sent to war. I know because I participated in it. And there is another round getting set to kick off. While that's bad enough, what's worse is that the units that lost the equipment are not getting replacements. There are no contracts in place or being negotiated as far as I know to build replacements and field them to units. Most concerning is that we gave them HIMARS systems. 12 so far with more on the way. HIMARS is basically rocket powered, GPS guided artillery. Ridiculously accurate, incredibly lethal. If our enemies get their hands on that.......not good.

I worry about our own national defense. We are depleting units of small arms, armor, artillery, vehicles. That whole militia thing for national defense may be a reality again sooner than anyone thinks, history repeating itself and all.

No need to worry. All we really need to combat is global warming and white men who hold onto their guns and religion. No concern about any peace loving ruskies, China, or proponents of the religion of peace.

Flog may admit to being wrong before Pootin poots

What exactly is our interest to instigate conflict via third party supplier?

I get the whole russia doesn’t like us schtick, but to hand out billion dollars worth of military equipment so nonchalantly is odd

I think in the beginning of this conflict maybe there wasn't any intention to give Ukraine aid. Then as the world saw just how badly we overestimated the strength of the Russian ground forces, it was like "oh, well maybe with a little help Ukraine could actually hold".
And if Ukraine does indeed hold, later down the road they are gonna owe us big time.
That will be really convenient. We will have another ally right next door to Russia, and maybe even a military base on their soil.
Just my thoughts

The military base makes sense. I can see that actually

The goal of the conflict is/was to move the EU further from better trade with China and back to a better relationship with the US. Division of Russia/Ukraine since the US-backed coup in 2014 (Bomma was POTUS) helps the NATO/US worldview of global liberalism as espoused by the WEF and the wealthy elites that frequent Davos. Trump diverted that evolution for a bit, focusing the American agenda on the US rather than the rest of the world.

That's kind of alarming. Hopefully we have a plan in place to replace our stuff. I saw something this week that we're looking for companies to manufacture artillery shells. I guess we've sent something like a million or more to Ukraine.

I have a frat brother that is deputy commander of the US European Command. He was promoted into the same position over Air Forces Europe/Air Forces Africa under Trump. I don't know if the European Command would be considered a promotion, demotion or lateral move. I'm sure it would be very interesting to chat with him about everything that's going on.

You guys are worried about nothing. Biden has got this. C'mon man!

Russia’s enormous nuclear submarine, the ‘Belgorod’ that recently became operational, is about to undertake the first-ever test of Russia’s Poseidon nuclear torpedoes, according to a top-secret NATO report cited by an Italian media outlet.
