A SURVEY of 1,000 women has found that the majority prefer reading a book or knitting to having SEX.

Asked to pick from a range of 'options' if they were given a spare moment to relax, women chose reading a good book as their 'top option', trumping sex, crafting or having a bath.

The top four options chosen by women in the poll released today were:

1 - Read a book - 37 per cent

2 - Have a bath - 26 per cent

3 - Crafting (Knitting, sewing etc) - 18 per cent

4 - Have sex - 8 per cent

It also found that 36 per cent of the women polled said their stress levels had rocketed in the wake of the events of 2016, including Brexit, Trump's election and financial worries.

Can they not multi-task?

**** ugh know how long it takes to read a book! Just give me 10 minutes and we both can be happier

Criminy, if you are not having sex and the election of Donald Trump is the reason your problems likely run far deeper than Donald Trump's election. There are doctors that can help with that. Padded rooms too.

Obviously they surveyed Mrs. Burgundy.

"It also found that 36 per cent of the women polled said their stress levels had rocketed in the wake of the events of 2016, including Brexit, Trump's election and financial worries."

Yet those same women are not interested in a proven method of stress relief. They are their own worst enemies.

If the women all look like that Berkeley porn chick, most men would pick up knitting as well.

LMFAO....None of those activities are on my list of **** I want to do.

My wife doesn't read (magazines once in a while). I installed a jacuzzi tub nearly 10 years ago. She's used it once. She does zero crafting of any form ever.

I call bullshit on this survey. Her interests are represented nowhere.

They're all with the wrong man.

Biology folks. It's pretty simple.

Women have a physiobiological need to find a quality mate for their offspring. They are genetically wired to produce healthy, decent young'uns. And not 26 of them as the Catholics and Mormons would have you do. Biology would have women produce quality over quantity. That means women naturally look for a quality mate and from a "hard wired" perspective they prefer monogamous long-term commitments with security so they can raise healthy, happy, successful children.

Men, on the other hand have a biological imperative to produce as MANY children as we can. It's our job to propagate the species. We could give a **** about quality, we're about QUANTITY. Men, from a "hard-wired" perspective are naturally more interested in short-term sexual hookups that ideally result in high-yield baby-makin'. (Note this is from a purely biological standpoint). Of course people are capable of resisting the instinctual drives that are built deep within them. That's what separates us from animals.

So, I can completely see why women, particularly after they reach their late 30's and get into their 40's would become highly disinterested in sex. It serves little purpose for them on a biological level. Instinctively it is counter-intuitive. Men, on the other hand... Well, they're still driven to perform their primary function as long as they're physically capable.

And there you have the simple, but ultimately complex and fascinating world of physiobiology.

I can't stand baths. Who wants to marinate in their own filth? I own one pair of scissors and have never crafted with them. I can't stand crafting. Hell- I was in charge of a craft yesterday at afterschool, and it should have been pictured as a Pintrest fail.

I come home from work, eat dinner, watch TV and fall asleep by 7pm. Every night. On weekends, I workout and clean the house. Walk the dogs. That's how I spend my free time.

I do love to read a good book. I use to sew and scrapbook but I just don't have the patience for it anymore. Knitting? Tried it once, so tedious. I'd rather watch grass grow. Sex, yeah I'm down, but the opportunity doesn't present itself very often with three teenagers coming and going at all hours.

They didn't list the "sitting around on the internet" option which is probably number one, lol. Second is tennis for me.

DTF? We like you Mrs. OFTB.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. None of these women spend their time on FB or the internet over those other things? Hell, I personally would list my kids as a hobby, or child raising, whatever. We spend an inordinate amount of time (pleasurable time) at their sporting events, going to/from practices, etc. That IS a hobby and the highlight of my days when presented with it.

I think the survey was bogus. Poor options.

he should be in porn!

i can easily screw for a half hour or more, on the other hand i haven't had sex with mrs. b in about a month since we've been taking turns being sick and i just had surgery on my thumb yesterday and will be in a mess of pain for a while.

Bullshit.

Women like sex just as much as men.

Nope. On a biological level, they like good partners and healthy offspring. Once that is accomplished, sex is extraneous.

Now, as I said - certainly people can override their biological instinctive imperatives. That's what separates us from the critters.

I'm not suggesting sex isn't enjoyable for women. But they aren't driven like men. They don't have the same sex-drive as men do on ANY level. That's biological. That's species propagation in action.

I'm not disagreeing with any that. I think you are onto something.....however women do seem to get REALLY horny during their middle age. I wonder what that is about, biologically speaking?

I can't knit and I haven't read a book in quite a while. That middle age thingy is something.
