Would You Welcome Back Rodgers Again?

40 per hell no, 20 over two years sounds like a lot, but isn't horrible, that would've made him the 21st highest paid QB last season, so after new QB deals 20 million per is putting him around the 25th highest paid.
I can see $20 million for a low-end starter, but is Willis even that at this point? He has done pretty much nothing in the league. I guess you could put him ahead of Howard, but they should be competing in the preseason for QB1. It should not be handed to Willis, as he just isn't that good or experienced at this point in his career. Honestly, I'd be happy going with Howard, and maybe another draft pick this year or, preferably, next year.

Agreed, I'd be fine with Howard and a draft pick and a cheaper option than Willis. If they did sign Willis at least it would only be 2 seasons and wouldn't stop them from looking/drafting another option this season or next.

Everyone is connecting Willis to Miami....I'm not sure about that. They've dumped some talented players and may be focusing on struggling this season to get a QB in 2027. Then again, all the "studs" in next year's draft weren't good enough to be a first-rounder this year. Once again banking on huge growth from a lot of QBs. I'm certain Manning would've gone first overall this year then Moore would've been top-5 this year, but not sure how good he'll actually be. He looked bad in his last game against NFL talent.

Many of the system limitations are a direct result of a QB that feels he must get rid of the ball in 1.5 seconds or less.

The weapons don’t even matter when the coach eliminates the middle of the field and the QB eliminates everything deep.

I don’t think McC opening up the middle will be enough to compensate for the old fella’s limitations.

Aaron did do ok, that standard has just grown old.
The other problem is the O-line...yeah he slowed down toward the end, but he made some amazing throws. If we had a great O-line he would be fine.

I wouldn't mind a down season. That said. I will root for a win every week. I would love to see Howard given a real shot in a real offensive scheme. Maybe Howard balls out and is our next guy long term at QB. We won't know unless we give him that chance. If he bombs throw in Rudy. Then draft a QB next off season.

He sucked against teams that made the playoffs last season. Nuff said. Time to move forward ...away from our goal of a Tomlinship....and toward a CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!

The Steelers are SO risk averse, as proven by the McCarthy hire, that I don't see any way that they go the Willis route or drafting one and running with Rudolph and Howard.

There will be a vet and sadly it'll probably be Rodgers. Another wasted year placating the old vets that we are going for a Super Bowl....honestly.

It's a sad state of affairs for the Steelers that we are even talking about welcoming back a 42yr old QB as the starter, even if it is Aaron Rodgers. He did a very good job last year but Father time waits for no one.
