XXIII Olympic Winter Games. Team USA hockey

Looks like the Russians are playing under the Olympic flag. Pavel Datsyuk is on the team. That will make them a strong contender vs the nordic teams.

I always root for the skiers and figure skaters to wipe out.
 
Kovalchuk and Datsyuk owned the Americans, men among boys. The big red Russian machine rolls on.
 
US mens hockey is not that good.
Russia has pro's though

Yea, having Datsyuk, Kovalchuk and a 6'8" goalie helps. The rest are KHL all-stars. They should win it all, they have the most talent by a mile in the olympics this year.

US Team holding their own after 1 vs the Czechs tonight!
 
Wow, halfway through the 2nd and it looked like the US team was dead in the water. they killed 3 penalties then started attacking. Should have scored with 2 1/2 left in the 3rd when they hit the crossbar. OT was controlled by the US team. They had the best chances.

Going to shootout!
 
Man USA women this evening are really sloppy with the puck. So many turnovers and mishandling . Just not pretty. Canada is playing great defense. 8 min left and it doesn't look good for the gold.
 
Ok,maybe we got a shot 2-2 going to OT. Next goal wins it.
 
Holy **** ..we won in the shootout . Wow what an epic game. That was awesome.
 
Excellent game. USA controlled OT, and Canada's only chance came on a late PP. Epic shootout. Excellent match by both squads who were evenly matched. Enjoy the gold ladies!!

That was a great win ! After Canada went up 2-1 I was about ready to go to bed. Glad I didn't. The shoot out was alone was worth the wait. Great hockey drama and a well deserved win.

Being up here in Northern New York, I get a handful of Canadian radio stations. Oh the wailing yesterday about hockey shootouts. While I kinda agree with the premise, they wouldn't have said a thing about it had Canada won. And they were whining about curling, and now that the mens ice hockey team lost to Germany, this afternoon should be epic radio. As a nation, Canada has had a solid Olympics. Just not in the sports they dominate.

You are tiring Cope. Hockey games of importance are decided by playing hockey, not by importing some bs from soccer.

Kids tournaments, with time constraints, have shootouts.

Men's professional, high level hockey, at least all important games, are decided by playing hockey.

It is great to see strong women's games, similar to that of boys midget hockey, with less testosterone and better positioning and set play execution.

For clarity, **** Bettman, the IIHF and soccer.

Says the kid who just started watching international hockey.

I've been staying up till 3AM to watch these guys play through OT and shootouts in Sochi.

The IOC doesn't care what you think about the format and neither do I. US WINS GOLD!!!!
