You can't give him a contract

As Coach Tomlin said "He's got to grow up in a hurry".

He's got to stop letting anyone or anything get under his skin. It serves no purpose with foolish childish reactions, wastes energy and is detrimental to your team and winning football games.
I can see him taking a stupid penalty in the playoff game that gives us a loss.

I just wonder if he can. He has been programmed to be selfish probably from the moment someone realized he was a great athlete. And that was probably pretty early in this kid's life. The positive about him is it seems to do his stupid shiit on the field, but at least he doesn't seem to have issues with drugs or with the law.

But so much of this is the parents. The local high school team here, they have a kid who is a nice athlete. The parents have been filling his head up with how great he is, it's always the coaches fault if he doesn't get the stats, his grades aren't that good but it's the teachers fault, his work ethic is ok, but..."You're great, son!!!" And this is a kid who is a pretty good athlete. He isn't George Pickens good. You see this a lot with average athletes anymore...parents hoping to get that scholarship. I can only imagine how it is with someone who is truly special, like GP.
I hear what you're putting down, I've coached many future NCAA athletes (Wrestling) and had to deal with these psycho parents. I've been admonished publicly, attacked physically, and even had one family leverage a school board member to have me fired because I told the father he had no honor. I don't know George's upbringing but like you, I can totally see George in this type of environment as well. I hope that he can overcome it and get his head straight.

That's what I'm worried about most. It will cost the Steelers dearly and it will cost Pickens millions of dollars.

This is year three of his career. The opponents know they can get in his head. They will keep working him until he galvanizes his mindset.

I do not believe his on field issues will change. It's a matter if he has similar off field decision making ability. Hopefully, he dies not and is generally a good guy. If you know that, yiu subtract the bad from good and make a decision but if he a locker room issue or at home issue. No way.

The part I find the most concerning is that he is completely oblivious to his actions. He said he didn't make the gun gesture. He clearly did. He said he didn't do anything for the first taunting. He dropped the ball on the defender. Until he man's up they are going to keep at him to draw this type of reaction.
So two fingers is a gun, lmao
Another reason Why the NFL sucks
Looked more like a first down gesture to me
But the NFL has a directive for the zebras to get more face time and slow down games with stupid calls

That **** was silly

When you have Broderick Jones and Darnell Washington (Former Georgia Team mates) trying to get through to him yet again and again, it's a systemic problem. Look, Tomlin has two choices; one, you let George be George and accept the fact that he's going to cost you 30 yards per game and put your team at disadvantages especially during critically close games, including the playoffs. Or, you cut ties and draft or acquire an equal talent this upcoming offseason. It comes down to risk/reward with Pickens. The man is an absolute inmature headcase who needs to do more than just grow up, he needs to adopt an unselfish mindset.
It simply isn’t that easy to draft an equivalent talent
They could try for ten years and not do it
So ya get the bad with the good.

I want receivers to be selfish and think they’re always open, all the great ones are that way anymore. The absolute stupid penalties like the first one need to go tho for sure if he’s to reach his full potential.

you can have a good team guy like Van that’s gonna get a catch every couple weeks that does little to impact wins and I’ll take 3-4 Georges all day.

I love the unpredictability of the GP show, he’s one of the few guys that make this predictable team watchable…never know what crazy **** George will do. It’s all for fun and drama anyways…real
Football left stadiums years ago

That's what I thought till he made a recoil motion. If you are excusing that stupidity you are clearly in denial. If they tell you don't make the throat slash........don't make the throat slash. If they tell you don't grab your crotch don't do that.

I guess I am in the minority that thinks it is just micromanaging players. Hell the WWE grabs their package and says suck it and that is televised.

Just not sure what it is accomplishing not allowing the dumb gestures . You already tainted the league with cheating and gambling. But gun finger bad real bad.

The best “shrinks” for George Pickens are very capable and readily available in the Steeler locker room and coaches offices..
I hear the couches are comfy also..

Man I wish they would let me lay for a spell. What conversations could be had. I would tell of this thing the team does on our side of the field, how it raises my blood pressure followed by homicidal ideations.

Slightly different market they are appealing too. They also slam metal chairs over heads and women dress like strippers.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the gun gesture rule come from Watt defense a couple years ago pretending to throw an object and shooting it out of sky.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he probably has some in house issues too. He comes across like a petulant little ***** in interviews. So my guess is they do not extend him in off season which couod lead to hold out hold in at training camp. I'd put odds of them giving him market value in offseason north of snowballs chance in hell and south of not bloody likely.

I dunno that is really a good question in which way they will lean. But when they drafted him they knew there was some character black marks. So it can’t be entirely shocking to them.

The league is pretty much WWF but wants the fandoms to think it’s a real quality product worthy of gambling on (which ironically can be done very effectively if you are hip to the league directive/storylines they are trying to create)

**** is a joke and pointing two fingers after a first down is a fifteen yard penalty, but 3 or 4 ok??? Can one mimic a sling shot ala David vs Goliath, is that ok? Can one chop wood-ooooo watch out he may be mimicking an axe murderer…It’s just asinine

the officiating is absolutely garbage executing basic calls they don’t need to worry about judgement calls on celebration too…worry about what false starts or holding is over interpretation of a dudes first down gesture…you know, bring a little integrity back to the game

Weak *** officials, weak *** league rules
Zebras gonna suck-the one constant

Yep, their refs still sway outcomes with the inability for the team to challenge. Until that changes it is more entertainment than a quality product.

A team should get unlimited challenges until they miss one and penalties (or missed penalties) should be able to be reviewed, but this would lengthen games and the overwhelming number of mistakes by officials would be brought to light. The shield wouldn’t like being exposed for having such garbage officials.

I miss the days of Cowher shoving pictures in a pocket to make a point.
