DK Sports Daily Shot happens to have a segment just about that 1st round success. It’s today’s video and can be found on YouTube easily.

I hope I am wrong also, but it seems like I read somewhere that our two tackles are 1st & 2nd on offensive tackles giving up sacks / pressures / hits. That is not a good stat to have on your resume. Moore is likely gone unless reduced pay and accepts a backup role. Re,member we moved up to get Jones so he cost a little draft capit5al as well.

Many here, myself included, gave him a pass as he was “playing out of position”. His rookie year he played RT and did a pretty good job. Sophomore year not so much. He regressed and showed signs of tantrum.

I want that OL trench filled with quality skill players, thus my desire for another high investment.

Well, Big Dot was playing out of position here at LG then he’s traded to the Rams, moved to his natural position RG now he’s a pro bowl player.
I suppose that matters and I sure hope do with Broderick.

Given the Steelers track record of top picks over the past decade, they probably should be even more ****** than they appear to be.

Terrell Edmunds, Devin Bush, Chase Claypool, Najee Harris, Kenny Pickett, Broderick Jones, Troy Fautanu.

Those have been the Steelers top draft picks since drafting TJ Watt in 2017.

A whole lot a "big misses" there, reflecting how it was definitely time for Kevin Colbert to move on.

Too bad the man he was making those personnel decisions with during his last several years appears harder to get rid of than a bad case of herpes.
I hear ya Punxy! I hope like hell Broderick and Troy turn out to be solid picks as the book end tackles otherwise we’re even further behind.

No its because Munch didnt like fraudlin and left for greener pastures,, Then the phony tomlin played favorites and wanted to hire his buddy seomalu to take his place.

you dont give up on that because of some struggles years 1&2 at RT..

The problem with that is that he did not struggle nearly as much at RT as a rookie as he did this past season. He actually played fairly well in 2023.

The regression he showed in 2024 is not a good sign, which is partly why I'm surprised there has yet to be a change at OL coach. The Steelers need Jones to play to most of his potential if they have any shot of contending any time soon.

He did have the elbow injury over the summer, but it's hard to say how much that affected him throughout the season. His play just too often looked sloppy and lazy.

I would love it to turn out to be as simple as him switching sides, but I think his issues are greater than that. They definitely shouldn't just hand him the LT spot going into next season.

i agree. i want him to win the LT position.

I would love to see him take that position and run with it, but I play him there no matter what. Fautanu was drafted to play RT. They both need to play where they were drafted, and bring in 1-2 young prospect OT’s to challenge them. Then if Jones still looks like a bust, you move on from him and hopefully have 3 left for 2 positions.

I also picked QB’s back to back from N & S Dakota. I don’t think either of them are going to be the next franchise guy, but they could be the guy that gets you by until they can get that guy. Worst case, extend Fields and they become 2&3.

I also really like an interior OL of Frazier/Frazier/McCormick. Only thing better would be Frazier/Frazier/Frazier.

I think a chance to start played a bit in his 1st year effort.

I think a big part of this is his immaturity and being upset that he was forced to change because the other guy absolutely could not. Hopefully he gets the LT job and grows the phuq up.

Inexperienced at RT, injured and seeing 2 years slip away from possibly a big next contract. He looks immature, and looks to be looking ahead too far, instead of worrying about today.

No, I put him in @ LT, then they need to go get 2 young OT’s to try and take his job.

They do NOT need to draft a RB early (1st or 2nd) again. The value is there later. I think that a DL has more value than a RB.

I would be looking DL/WR/CB. In that order. I would also make my choice with work history and character being the primary factors. I would take 3 Hines Ward type players over the diva’s they take because they are flashy.

Also, stay away from those overrated prima donna’s from Alabama.

one mid round OT should be drafted to compete and maybe win the swing spot against a cheap vet, If Broderick starts with his head up his butt he might lose the opportunity of a life time. Would be a good incentive

Fans jump to conclusions on guys way too early. For every good tackle ready to play well early, there are two that needed years to develop correctly...

Jones was known to be really raw... he has tge frame and athleticism to be a top LT in the game.. you dont give up on that because of some struggles years 1&2 at RT..
Jones is primed to be a player that goes to another team and develops into a Pro Bowl caliber player.

that would be an awesome draft.

Yeah. No way in real life that the best RB since Barkley falls to us who definitely has a hole at RB to fill then get a sure handed wr like Golden who imo is an ascending player. The rest just fill potential future holes and immediate depth.

Hampton is a guy I need to watch more. Stats are fantastic just haven’t seen a lot of film on him. Saw the gophers game live and he was definitely a workhorse but didn’t pop. But the gophers defense is definitely underrated.

depending on what happens n free agency, unless a QB that they fall in love with falls, the 1st pick has to be dline

Would you take the Sanders kid if he fell to 1.21 ? Just curious as I’d pass on that.

He was pretty accurate in college but I think his dad would bring headaches to the room. The team sure doesn’t need additional issues. As far as the prospect goes did Colorado face a lot of power 5 defenses? I think you have to bring level of competition into the equation.

Obviously the kid has some talent but I have no idea if that equals franchise talent.

100% agree

The dad is who I definitely would NOT want to deal with. Add in that Deion would try to coach his son outside of what the organization may be trying to do. Kid would be pulled in two directions and set up for failure. Add in the Tomlin scheme…..

The QB I like in this draft is the Ole Miss Rebel, one Jaxon Dart.
He’s got good mobility, throws darts, and I like his confidence and swagger.
I really like this young man and think we could get him with an early second round pick.
Maybe just maybe they can unload the fruitcake Pickens and pickup an early second for him and use to draft the Dart.
I like the Ohio State receiver with our first pick.
Try like hell to sign Ted Higgins from the Bengals.
With our second round pick take the best DL on board.
Sign the best FA Cornerback.
Sign Justin to a new contract. Let Jaxon and Justin battle it out.
Move Broderick to his natural position LT and pray.
Troy to Right Tackle.
I like James Daniels and would think about resigning him for RG.
LG maybe go with McCormick.
Center would be obvious, Frazier.
Art, please spend some ******* money to add to this coaching staff. Hire Robert Saleigh as a Defensive Assistant. Hire some coaches as specialists in the passing and running games.
That’s my take.

Here's my very early "realistic" first-round targets:

RBs - Ashton Jeanty, Omarion Hampton
WR - Emeka Egbuka, Matthew Golden, Luther Burden
IDL - Kenneth Grant, Tyleik Williams,
CB - Benjamin Morrison, Jahdae Barron, Shavon Revel, Trey Amos

I've read that the Steelers are in love with Jalen Milroe the Alabama QB. I'm not sure of the validity but it got me thinking about it. I've seen him mocked in the 1st round and first half of the 2nd. If he is there at 21 and the Steelers take him, would you be good with the pick? I'm torn. Reading his bio, he seems to have mostly the same strengths and weaknesses that Fields has. If they don't take him at 21 and go DL and then he falls into the 2nd round, would you be OK if they trade up to get him? I like the 2nd scenario better but if they love him, they could pull the trigger at 21. They will have already made some decision on both Fields and Wilson prior to the draft.

I could be OK with this. Addressed our biggest need by grabbing a DL in the first and third. Both have size and length the Steelers love. Bond at WR and Tuten at RB both have speed to burn. Bond and Wilson (back from injury) could be our WR2 and WR3. Tuten will be a great complement to Warren. He has speed to take it to the house on any carry as Fast Willie Parker did. I filled some other needs but the main focus of the draft was fixing the DL and addressing our skilled positions on O.
