Justin Fields to test free agency

They've gone from being a QB away, to wasting the prime years of a franchise, to no QB is going to right the ship in it's current state. Continue to build the trenches(players and coaches), pick up a couple receivers and a corner and ride it out with Allen, Thompson and a journeyman. That should put them in position for a top prospect in 2026, with an experienced and hopefully improved O line and receiving corps to give him the best shot to succeed. Not to mention a good amount of cap space to bring in some impact players on either side of the ball. But hey, investing 25 mil+ a year on Wilson, Rodgers or one of the young but unproven options may set them back a few more years, but should keep Tomlin's streak intact. And isn't that what really matters to this franchise anymore?

We were never a QB away given our coaching situation. No QB is going to thrive when they are not allowed to use the whole field, audible, or are running for their life. I agree with the rest. I feel that Fields trust is shot because of how they handled rudolph, pickett, and even what they did to him to some extent. I do feel the steelers had to try Wilson because of his unusual circumstances, but I can see how Justin would feel slighted. I wonder how many times in NFL history a team went from back to back years w/o retaining a previous QB. Fields is probably the best short-term choice, but im not sure he is the long term answer. He has had several years in the league and has never really broke out. Darnold / Rodgers would be an expensive disaster and handicap the team for years. Wilson would be OK short-term is the price was right. I would prefer to get a guy like Minshew for cheap and sign Allen. I think we should build other areas in the draft early before considering QB this year.

It's debatable how good Russ ever was. He was a Rooney pick all along and you know how that goes: IF the bossman wants a player, that player is gonna play. Similar to the way Art thought Harris was the pick at RB; no matter how much the info. said "wrong choice" he stumbled on and on until he was proven wrong as rice. He thought he was getting Derrick Henry but instead he got Trent Richardson and didn't know any better.
I want this as my signature for next season...

Dumbest post EVER!!!

Nothing I'm hearing makes me think this team will average over 18 points per game next year.

IMO, this means we bring RussTed back and then draft Dart 1.21.

Over reach massively at a position of need.

This will lead to Dart not playing at all his rookie season. And if we don’t take a QB early, RussTed will get injured and we’ll be ****** for the season.

Either way, the Standard non-losing season is in jeopardy.

Stupidest post I’ve read today - and I’ve read a few in R&P

I think that is right around what Tomlin shoots for per game schematically. Seems to be anyway.

Rusinni says we are going to offer Darnold tomorrow. I bet we don't even get him.

Khan Man is a JOKE. I said it early last year and got blasted. Dude is nothing but a Superfan that has no idea what he's doing.

And you can't even refute it, says a lot right there.
Can’t refute absolute bullshit ignorance, since there isn’t anything to discuss.

Why would he want to refute that was the dumbest post he's read that day????

This is the dumbest post I've read so far today, leaving room for you to post again................................

They are dangerously flirting with Clown-lin's winning season streak. This could be the years he f-cks it up. It turns out it was Big Ben who saved his @ss all this time. Without Ben they are too one-dimensional. No more Ben to save the team from itself.

Just saw Justin is in Dubai right now...

In Dubai working on his touch & accuracy?

Not sure if this is remotely true but it kind of sounds true (and would suck):

"REPORT: Justin Fields has been offered multiple contracts by the Steelers over the last couple of days and he has not gotten back to them…"

He wants to know he has the pole position like Russ did last year.

Obviously we have NO privy to the conversations that have taken place between Justin and the front office.

Remember, Justin has an out there edge like Agent to question everything. I also think that public view has been Fields or Wilson. That grouping has been a mistake from day one. They already slighted him in how the season played out, so they should be telling everyone it's Justin we want. They should have been making it well known through-out the media all off season.

Fast forward to now and Justin is doing what anyone would be doing, exploring his market value and that value is "BIG-time" in his favor, regardless of payback in ability. Teams interested will be paying for perceived ability.

The Steelers may have a plan B, but this plan A was not executed very well.

Article is from the HOME page right here at steelernation.com

talks about how Justin was slighted......................................
