I was onboard with Kahn to start, but my support is waning. What has he done?

2024 draft:

Fautanu - OT, grade, incomplete, injured, has somewhat an injury history.
Frazier - C, seems to be coming on. B
Roman Wilson - WR, incomplete, didn't see the field, bust so far.
Payton Wilson - LB, B-. Size could be a factor.
McCormick - OG, C.
Lee - DL, incomplete, has barely played.
Watts - DB, incomplete.

Analysis - Not much to report, mostly a big zero.

2023 draft:

Jones - OT, grade C. Mostly playing out of his position, hard to say, I give you the Clown-lin show.
Porter, Jr. - CB, basically solid, but handsy, I'll give him a B.
Benton - DL, again, playing out of position, thanks Clown-lin. B-.
Washington - TE, should have more production, C.
Herbig - LB, B when he gets to play.
Trice - CB, incomplete, always injured.
Anderson - OT, hasn't played.

2022 draft (Colbert's last hurrah)

Pickens - QB, D. Traded away for peanuts. Colbert's legacy pick, some legacy. FAIL.
Pickens - shown some flashes, but immaturity overshadows play.
Leal - DL/OLB, doesn't have a position, D.
Austin III - WR, has some plays but hardly a regular contributor. C.
Heyward - TE/RB - only on roster because of his brother. D. Under 6 foot, only TE in NFL under 6'. Clown-lin brother pick.
Robinson - LB, can't make starter spot. D.
Oladokun - QB, a joke. F.

3 drafts, 3 losers thus far, not a good track we're on. What is happening? Clown-lin influence not good.

I'll bet you're fun at parties. Mods, can you make this Lloyd's profile pic?

Are you kidding about last year being a zero? Sure, Fuatanu got injured. It happens, but he had already won the RT spot before the injury and will hopefully be our RT for the next decade. He will also allow Jones to move back to his natural position.

Frazier was great as a rookie and should be a mainstay on the OL for the next decade.

Agree that Roman is incomplete, but hope he can stay healthy and be the WR4, at worst this year. He should battle Austin for the slot position.

Payton Wilson had very significant reps at ILB as a rookie and was a steal in the draft.

McCormick stepped in as a rookie when Daniels got injured. He played very well until the last few games when he hit the rookie wall. I'd expect him to start again this year and hopefully for the next decade. He looks to be another steal in the draft.

Lee and Watts were flyer picks late in the draft and were both injured.

You really can't judge a draft solely on the first year, but 2024 is looking like a solid A if these guys improve upon what they showed as rookies.

2023 had and still has significant potential. Jones going back to his natural position should help him tremendously. Keep in mind, he moved to RT because Moore absolutely could not do it. The turnstile is gone now. Time for Jones to show us what he can do at his natural position. Hopefully, Tomlin didn't ruin another OL by having him play out of position.

Porter had some dumb penalties in year 2, but he is a lockdown CB and will be the CB1 for the foreseeable future.

Benton will hopefully continue to improve as we need serious help on the DL that mostly will come from within in 2025.

Washington is a very good blocker and has very soft hands. He took advantage of the receiving options sent his way, which were few and far between. However, he is a great TE2 to Muuuth and still has significant upside if they use him in the red zone. GP, DK, Muuth, and Washington in the red zone should be deadly if used correctly.

Herbig has outperformed his draft position and is a good OLB3. He was a steal from what he's shown so far.

Trice got injured and missed his rookie year but showed good promise in year 2.

Anderson is incomplete and may not make the team.

In those 2 years, Kahn has gotten significant serious reps from his picks, and things look to continue to improve with those picks.

If he has another good draft this year, he will be off to a great start. But, this year we don't have many picks, and Tomlin f'ed up the QB position with his man-crush all but guaranteeing they must take a QB in Rd. 1 or 3. Hopefully, they take their lumps with the QB situation and draft a big DL in the first round and wait to get a QB in round 3 or, even better, round 4. Then, they will probably draft another QB next year unless whoever they brought in seriously looks good in practice and the preseason.

I'm not sure they have the coaching talent on the team to coach up a rookie QB, or any QB for that matter. Fields did improve some coming to the Steelers but Tomlin has never developed a QB in his coaching career. Smith is a run first guy so I'm not sure he can help much there but it is needed.

Not sure why I am really doing this. Guess it must be because retirement can be boring at times.

Nah, not that bored

Right, and I will adjust my grading to accurately reflect how the players have progressed. But at the time of my writing, I believe it's an accurate grade.

Frazier was great as a rookie and should be a mainstay on the OL for the next decade.

Right, I gave him a B. He's not "the best in the league" as of 2024, but he's pretty good. A gave him a B.

Agreed, that's why I gave him the grade I did.
Payton Wilson had very significant reps at ILB as a rookie and was a steal in the draft.

Perhaps, I need to see further progression.
McCormick stepped in as a rookie when Daniels got injured. He played very well until the last few games when he hit the rookie wall. I'd expect him to start again this year and hopefully for the next decade. He looks to be another steal in the draft.
Right, his transgression was bothersome but we will see how he does in '25.
Lee and Watts were flyer picks late in the draft and were both injured.

A solid A? After the 1st rounder pulled a no show? I don't know, not proven doesn't = an A.

And as of right now, it's hard to judge him higher than a C.
Porter had some dumb penalties in year 2, but he is a lockdown CB and will be the CB1 for the foreseeable future.
But his "handsy" penalties are hard to ignore. He needs to do better.
Benton will hopefully continue to improve as we need serious help on the DL that mostly will come from within in 2025.
He's not a true NT but Clown-lin refuses to draft a real one.
Washington is a very good blocker and has very soft hands. He took advantage of the receiving options sent his way, which were few and far between. Zero retort? Nothing?
Um, you just responded to a retort.
Since you like posting definitions:

a sharp, angry, or wittily incisive reply to a remark.

Speedicuts remark was witty, yours are never.
FYI…“Clown-lin” is not witty in case you haven’t got the memo.

Frazier is an A. I think he could be the next great C. Somebody on that line needs to step into greatness and lead.
Anyone who puts him as a C doesn’t understand football. 😀

And Benton doesn’t deserve anything higher than a C to date.
