LMAO, more Tomlin jibber-jabber,

When people blame the players I don't get it. Sure players mess up sometimes, but trying to cover chase 1 on 1 does not work. I don't think any CB in the league would succeed. If you look at the Raven playoff game how can watt make an impact when he is being told to tackle Henry at all costs. Look at Detroit vs TB. Detroit was missing it's secondary and held TB to 9 points. They didn't have communication issues and managed to bracket egbuka alot of plays. At the end of the game Baker tried to get him the ball but there was underneath and over the top coverage. There was no where to throw the ball. We are being out manned and outsized up front. I think we have capable players just not putting them in the right spots

Over the past 3-4 seasons, I've progressed to the point that I cannot stand to listen to him speak anymore.

No accountability, always has lame excuses and the same old cliches that he must have learned in high school.

No adjustments, no scheme changes, no clue what he is doing.

Wait, you mean Detroit was missing starters in the Secondary, and still shut down a good offense without having communication issues??? I call bullshit, we've been told players play, coaches don't tackle, cover, or beat a block.

Yep, they all say stuff like our defense is going to do historic things, or we can cover anyone in the NFL, no disrespect to the Bengals, but we can cover any team. Yeah that really sounds like he's just trying to get through it.

How many other NFL Coaches say this on a national Podcast?

It's easy to overlook the typical coach blabber, but when the guy that is leading your franchise says some of the dumbest things, like we didn't play Herbig because Cincy was running the ball on us, they threw the ball double the amount of times they ran it. Or when he's asked about Pickens being late, and he stares into the camera like a deer in the head lights, then says I don't remember.
He makes stupid statements! No shiit. He has since the famous "unleash hell." We all know that. Since that's the case, it's your fault when you get worked up about them. I could care less what he says. If he said these things and they came to fruition, no one would care. I'm more concerned about the stuff we see on the field than anything he says. Chuck Noll said empty barrels make the most noise. Tomlin is pretty close to being an empty barrel as a coach at this point.

Because...they play!!!??? Nobody is absolving the lousy coaching. But dammit, players are out there, not coaches.

So I'm guessing Tomlin was taken out of context when he talked about how this defense could do historic things? Or when he said this defense can cover anyone, no disrespect to the Bengals, he singled them out. I don't want to, and I know the fans are sick of hearing damn excuses from him. "We had a necessary stop in the 4th" YAY! What about the other drives.
Less than ideal circumstances sounds like an excuse, Bengals are missing their franchise QB, and their starting QB has been there 10 days, they are playing on a short week too.

Let me know when Siriani comes out before the Eagles have played one game and says how historic his defense or offense will be, how they can cover anyone, or when their players say we have the best defense in the NFL, this is the best defense I've ever seen. Is this the same Siriani that has more playoffs wins in 2024 than Tomlin does in the past 15 seasons?
...and yet at 4-2 they still have a better record than 60% of the league. Im more interested in the here and now than reflecting on something that was said weeks ago. I really did think this defense was trending upward prior to the Bengals game regardless of the premature prediction of how historic they would be and anybody who says different is lying to themselves.

The good news is that they will not be facing 2 studs like Chase and Tee every week and they now have offensive play patterns they can focus on producing better coverage designs for.

We'll see where they are at after these next three weeks and have a better idea if Thursday was just one of those games, or if this team played fools gold with us for the first few weeks. Im not as heavily invested as apparently some of you are so im not going to lose my stuff if something goes terribly wrong. You naturally could be disappointed, but no need to lose your integrity in the process.

and it's your fault for getting worked up when people make posts about what he said. It's a discussion board and the almost 20 year HC is treating his highest paid defense with kiddie gloves and saying crap that totally contradicts what's happening on the field, why wouldn't fans call him out or ***** about it?

Its one thing to call him out on stuff he actually said. To intentionally misquote something he said so as to discredit him is a whole different thing. If you believe hes already lost any believability why stoop to those levels??

I don't make 18 million dollars and have millions of people listening to what I say, his job is in front of millions of fans, mine is not. Out of all the drives the defense sh!t the bed on, the one he brings up is the one stop in the 4th, either way he's treating his 160 million dollar defense that he hand picked and announced as being historic and can cover anyone with kiddie gloves. I never intentionally misquoted him, I posted what they were saying on the Fan radio station in Pittsburgh.

Like I said before he called out his defense on a lot of things. It seems like youre selectively choosing to address individual parts of what he said as opposed to what he said as a whole.

I could say a lot about this 160m dollar defense. Believe me when I say a lot of those guys' reputations proceeded them and they were able to leverage themselves into big contracts even though they are no longer worth those contracts. That includes Watt. The fact that this 160m defense is led by Teryl Austin is a even bigger issue.

Yinz need a better hobby...
Why do you always seem to take up for Tomlin?
What has he done to still make you want to support him?
Please don’t tell me it’s the non losing seasons.
I’m just curious why still there are fans that want to continue supporting this fool.

I don't. But I do think many complaints are "the same ol' same ol'" - we all know he's not leaving until HE is ready.

Why keep complaining?

Now someone said he's the only dumb coach in the league. What about this guy???

He's just a copycat hehe

A couple of things here. It is important to represent accurately what he said and the context of it. Apparently you may have misrepresented it. Again, I don't listen, which is why I said may have.

The other thing here is that coaches lie when they are up there. It is what they do, and not only Tomlin. Fans who expect honesty are naive. Since I know it's not gonna happen, I just don't listen. When coaches are too honest, they usually end up unemployed.

Coaching, is my biggest concern.

Salute the nation

I can understand that. Those complaints of same ol’ same ol’ is exactly how many of us feel about Tomlin.
I realize we’re just fans and what we think doesn’t matter which when you think about it really is quite sad.
Afterall what’s the point of all this if the fans don’t matter? Were the ones who follow these teams blindly and spend plenty of money but to be just blown off really stinks.
You would think Art Rooney would want what’s best for his franchise and its fans. I guess it just doesn’t matter!

But the players blame the players too.
You can read what Heyward said after the Cincy game. Maybe I’m wrong but it doesn’t seem like they blame the coaches or schemes very often, if at all.

I was a Tomlin supporter. As that faded and eventually turned into me wishing he was gone I posted on this site my reasons. At times I felt I was the only nonTomlin supporter aside from numerous trolls. Then at some point others jumped in. Sighting some of my very reasons that I posted. And also adding their own reasons. Now on this site I believe there are more on the side where we want Tomlin gone. Now you see articles from writers on several sites saying the same thing we on here have been saying.

So why sit back and keep your mouth shut on a team message board if you are unhappy with the direction your team has been going....for years now? I see so much wrong with that. Keeping silent is not the answer.

Again, you're lumping all coaches together, yes they lie up there, but show me what other coaches run their mouth about their defense before the season being historic or can cover any team in the NFL? That's why I'm calling him out, he ran his mouth about how great this defense is going to be, then when they suck, he finds every way to give them an excuse.
Boo-hoo they played in less than ideal circumstances, Cincy was on a short week, missing their franchise QB and best defensive player, doesn't sound like they were playing in ideal circumstances either.
The past weeks it was well this group hasn't been together long, so there's communication issues.

Anyone associated with (and I emphasize anyone) the Steelers defensive scheme and play calling is down right horrible and need replaced from these duties.

I felt I was watching that game on rerun no adjustments, none.
