I just want to point out that there isn’t a backup QB in the league taking reps with the first team, and yet they come off the bench looking far more prepared than Sanders. Reps with the 1’s is kind of a lazy excuse.
Sanders’ biggest problems are that old habits die hard. Holding the ball too long, rolling into pressure, going backwards to escape the pocket and taking sacks. Saw all of it yesterday. He’s gotten away with it at every level he’s played but it won’t work in the NFL. He’s been doing that crap so long that I don’t know if it can be coached out of him at this point.
He threw a couple nice passes yesterday, and I think, with patience and proper coaching he could become at least serviceable. However, I think the hype from media and fan boys have set an expectation this kid has no chance of meeting.
