But wanted to return to the game. Doesn’t sound long term. Could affect snaps and handoffs, though, just to be safe, IR him and let’s light this candle.

Thanks for the update on Rodgers

I hope you’re kidding about Howard. The odds of him having success now with no preseason snaps and few recent reps is pretty low.

His best chance is to get in some preseason games next year and build from there

Kind of. If we lose the next three, give him a shot.

Howard is going to surprise a lot of people how good he can play.

He will 100% end up better then Shadeur Sanders
That will not be hard if today is any indication. Rudolph holds down fort. If you dont like the 1st round QB situation after winning the Tomlinship go into the season with Rudolph and Will. Then if season starts to go south get the young man in.

Sanders looked rough today, but his oline did not help. Not ready to start Howard yet unless we tank. The Ravens did not look too good against the Browns and are usually good for a brain fart game or 2. The Jets are playing better and cinci might have Burrow back. I wouldn't be shocked if the Ravens dropped one of those

Was Sanders horrible when called upon? No. Was he elite? No.

The kid showed a lot of moxie and grit in the loss and he'll probably get a shot a QB1 for the next game - meaning actual practice prep with the 1s. If he looks horrible after that, perhaps your hate for him will be somewhat warranted...

I dunno IMO he didn’t look the part of an NFL starter. I thought he too often was a statue in the pocket and his release was slow. 4 of 16 completed? That is a 25 percent completion percentage to pair with an INT. Ouch.

Plenty of QBs come off the bench and shine. He didn’t. His back peddling under pressure looked similar to moments in training camp.

For me any glimmer of hope of victory went away when Gabriel went out concussed. I don’t have any ill will for the kid other than not wanting the clowns to buy a QB clue. I just don’t think he is a gem in waiting. I don’t see any traits that screams future NFL QB.

He was horrible. Stop it.

Well the season was a lost cause anyway, but without Rodgers this seriously endangers the Tomlinship.

Even with Rodgers. He hasn’t looked good since the GB game. I think he’s hitting the same wall Manning hit 10 years ago.

I just want to point out that there isn’t a backup QB in the league taking reps with the first team, and yet they come off the bench looking far more prepared than Sanders. Reps with the 1’s is kind of a lazy excuse.

Sanders’ biggest problems are that old habits die hard. Holding the ball too long, rolling into pressure, going backwards to escape the pocket and taking sacks. Saw all of it yesterday. He’s gotten away with it at every level he’s played but it won’t work in the NFL. He’s been doing that crap so long that I don’t know if it can be coached out of him at this point.

He threw a couple nice passes yesterday, and I think, with patience and proper coaching he could become at least serviceable. However, I think the hype from media and fan boys have set an expectation this kid has no chance of meeting.

4/16 is pretty much horrible

Good take. I like it...

Enough with the Shedeur conversation, that kid sucks. CLE more than likely would have beat BAL with Gabriel still in the game, thanks partially to that Garrett led defense. Sanders, oh a nice 13.5 passer rating. Enough already!

This is about the Steelers QB situation. I really had hope that A-Rod would have realized how crappy he has become and put some effort into it, but that wasn't the case, same "old" Rodgers. Look at the stats, 'vanilla' Mason was better overall. At least he can distribute the ball. Howard, I believe, is our future and he isn't ready yet. If we get passed up in the AFC North, then let Howard take some pro snaps. Until that day we stick with Mason and roll the dice.

YESTERDAY STATS
A. Rodgers 9/15 116 (YDS) 1 (TD) 106.5 (RTG)
M. Rudolph 12/16 127 (YDS) 1 (TD) 118.5 (RTG)

I think it is time for A-Rod to put on a headset and 'heal'. With Mason we start to etch away at that salary commitment to DK and the other WRs aren't afraid to make a mistake. A mistake with A-Rod means they won't see playing time.

I do not care about Shudder Sanders or the Browns.
I do however care about the QB situation here and think Rodgers has not played well the last couple games and now the injury.
Aaron has played better than I expected this season but he’s almost 42 and we most likely have seen his best play. I don’t think it gets better!
Mason for whatever reason does well when he’s inserted into the lineup.
He didn’t light it up yesterday but he did his job and was efficient.
I would give Mason first team snaps and let him start against the Bears and let Aaron take time to heal but I’m sure that’s not what will happen.
Bears have a young and aggressive defense that will offer challenges to whomever is our QB.

Any legit defense will simply blitz the crud out of us, exposing a poor performing line, and causing havoc for an under used back up, or an old man. Either way, you can count on an aggressive defense from Chicago.
