Mock draft

Step 2: Current Steelers Capital

  • #20 = 850
  • #51 = 390
  • #79 = 190
  • #84 = 170
  • #99 = 125

Total of 1st + 2nd + 3rds = 850 + 390 + 190 + 170 + 125 = 1,725 points

Total
#20 (1st)
850

#51 (2nd)

390

#79 (3rd)

190

#84 (3rd)

170

Total

1,600 → matches #6 value

All of this you can use to give you a basic understanding of what it would take to move up to 6 . If anyone needs anything other move up projections let me know…

Steelers Record
Likely 2026 Draft Slot
9–8
~15–20 overall (mid‑to‑late teens)Â

10–7

~20–24+ overall (late teens/lower 20s) Â
9 and 8 finish is probably 16-20 range

And 10 and 7 probably mid to semi late 20s.

I am still thinking 9 and 8 is a more realistic finish…

Great stuff, thanks! What about a move up to 1? If you're going to shoot your shot, make it a 3-pt'er.

If they make the playoffs I would be willing to bet Rodgers comes back 1 more year.
Does that make them go BPA in 2026?
Not sure.
Most mocks has them going WR in the 1st.
I thing go trenches again. Hopefully a great DE is there

Sorry for the late.
  • #20 overall (2026)
  • 2026 1st-round pick (already included, that’s #20)
  • 2026 2nd-round pick
  • 2026 3rd-round pick
  • 2027 1st-round pick
  • 2028 1st-round pick
And this still might not be enough as they would be competing with other teams.

Possibly even
  • #20 overall (2026)
  • 2026 2nd
  • 2026 3rd
  • 2027 1st
  • 2028 1st
  • 2029 2nd
So basically just not a great idea … at least for this class…

Yeah they should think hard about that. Going DE, WR, G, and CB could really help the talent level on the team.

They've already spent a lot of draft capital on the trenches the last three drafts. Not as much on DL as OL, but they've still spent a 1,2, 5 and 6 in that time. If they don't start doing more drafting in the secondary, and to a lesser degree the offensive skill positions, they're going to be in desperation mode come 2027. The last five drafts Joey Porter Jr is the only defensive back the Steelers have drafted earlier than the 6th round (they did give up a 2023 fifth rounder in 2021 for Witherspoon). For a position group that represents about 20% of your starters that's a serious lack of draft investment.

The Steelers can't keep relying on other teams 30+ year old castoffs and cap casualties to fill most of the secondary without it eventually biting them in the bum even more than it has to date.

Too early but I'll play...

Used Supe's link.

1/20 - Makai Lemon, WR
2/51 - Trevor Goosby, OT
3/79 - Deontae Lawson, LB
3/84 - Ian Strong, WR
3/99 - Nicholas Singleton, RB
4/119 - Parker Brailsford, C/OG
4/133 - Diego Paiva, QB
5/160 - Ar'maj Reed-Adams, OG
6/213 - Trinidad Chambliss, QB
6/214 - Kalil Alexander, EDGE
7/219 - Shamar Easter, TE
7/235 - Demon Clowney, EDGE
I would probably stay away from QBs under 6'0 with projected draft 4th rd or later. That's one miss I can live with even if they become a superstar. I also have this feeling the Ravens will do what they can to snatch whatever first rd pick they think we would go with as i anticipate them being before the Steelers in the draft order and they could definitely use another WR.
