Malik Willis

I saw a large percentage of his success off rpo and using the middle of the field.

I don’t think that translates to the Tomlinized version of the AS offense…just another square peg

Rodgers returning would give us a better chance imo.

I think Willis would be on par with a Rudy, Will or any number of day 1-2 picks in this draft and not a noticeable upgrade.

He’s like a lighter version of Fields and we saw how that experiment went. I wouldn’t touch him with a 10 foot pole if Mike is still the HC. It would be yet another overpay for a square peg.

Hopefully the kid is smart enough to choose a good destination to continue his ascent in his career…seems like a good kid.
Not sure comparing Willis to Rudy is accurate. For one Willis can keep plays alive like Action Jackson.

Rudy has trouble throwing into tight windows. 11 and 11 compared with 6 and 0. You read that correctly no interceptions in two seasons. If anything Willis has shown better field vision. I am willing to bet his arm strength is greater too.

Now Fields might be a closer comparison. Fields had a decent showing before he tapered off. He just struggled with his reads.

I do think Willis is an upgrade over Rudy…

If there is a bidding war for Willis it won't be stupid. Like I said. For sure starter not franchise money next season in the form of guaranteed money with easy out the years after. He is still definitely in prove it territory.

I mentioned Willis as an option in November because the Steelers circle back on guys they scout during the draft process.

I know he’s the hot name after last night, I just don’t think that’s enough that will command an insane contract. Maybe I’m way off base, but only a handful of starts in the LaFleur offense. Does he even get Justin Fields money? You’re all sounding like someone is gonna pay him $30-40 million next year.
I was just thinking that, his ceiling contract would be Fields like.

If you are bringing in a younger guy to start you have to pay starter money. The trick is the outside. You need good outs.

Just comparing the level of success they would have in the Tomlinized AS offense- simply think Tomlin would stifle his strengths

Totally agree Willis is more talented

To be fair Tomlin would do that if they stood pat or brought anyone in.

That is his signature , not good enough!
