Tomlin stepping down

Dude, I’m just giddy today after this news.
I went from feeling low to reaching new heights of euphoria this afternoon.
Majority of the fan base is overjoyed I am sure.

Should we keep Omar Khan or find a way to clean house all the way?
I would fire everyone

Khan's job is to put the team together and somehow thought going into the season with nothing behind what has proven to be an over-hyped DK at receiver is unforgivable

yes some signings were quality pickups - looking at you here Gainwell.....but the WR room was just awfuly

run stopping was an issue with the D so they let their best run stopper walk after last season....

they really need to hire me as an advisor

I would promote Andy to GM.

I agree and havne't been overly impressed with roster decisions since Khan took over.

Well wait a minute on the Rooney Rule.
Does the rule not state that an organization must interview a minority candidate? That’s the essence of the rule or am I missing something?
I think it makes a fair hiring practice and provides ALL qualified candidates an opportunity to be interviewed.

Yes I am thinking Flores gets that nod. I have no problem with the process and I am sure they will hire the right candidate for the job.

If the "young coordinator with no head coaching experience" is the M.O. for the Rooney family the options could be:

Chris Shula
Jeff Hafley
Joe Brady
Klint Kubiak

I suspect they interview Arthur Smith as the "internal interview" but I would be surprised if he ends up with the job.

I do like Stefanski. I think he had no chance in Cleveland and that's a hard job to be rated on when you have the Deshawn Watson fiasco hanging over your neck. That said, I understand why some would be skeptical of him.

Maybe the Steelers will the first team to hire a young, hot, female coach with big boobs.

yes that is the rule

that is as much discussion as this deserves

any further comments will likely move into the areas that we do not want to discuss in this forum

so if you wasnt to dig further into the rule, take it to the political forum

I thought I was interpreting the rule correctly.
Carry on!

I'd keep Bubbles, but otherwise a clean sweep and maybe young Dan takes over as well.

My happiest day ever! (besides when @fedderone 's kid was born )

I’ve always said ..what WR in their right mind would want to play here. Unless totally overpaid. Or at the end of their career. The offense these coaches have come up with since 2020 has been total bush league. Pittsburgh was like a graveyard for WR’s.
I I’d give Kahn a couple of years. I think he’s been handcuffed to a degree. The hiring and firing of a new coach should always be on the GM. Let’s see what he comes up with.

I was listening to Stein this morning and he said 37% wanted him fired, so maybe not majority in the polls.

Now that it happened the % number would be higher.

Of course you will have those just waiting in the wings, to beotch should the new coach falter.

I agree IF that was Khan's decision alone. From everything the local media has stated over the past several years, Tomlin had a great deal of authority over the players they brought in. Without knowing the inside politics, it is hard to know who to blame for some of the decisions.
