Surprise Tomlin

No, that's not accurate. Noll started it with Cowher, he left one IC Light in the fridge and Cowher added the 2nd.
I haven't seen anything about Noll leaving IC Light. Tomlin confirmed Cowher left 2 on the Pat McAfree show back in 2021.

I think they released a statement. Him answering questions about it could have contradicted the statement. The main deal I got here is Art refused to say if they picked ip the '27 option. He stated that they were committed to '26 and refused to answer anymore on the topic. If they weren't picking up '27 he was a well paid lame duck. Everything else that happened was spin to save face.

They say his wife is about to take half his **** because he cheated on her and knocked the woman up.
Belichick told Tomlin, "If you want to win Super Bowls. you have to start cheating"

Mike misunderstood Bill's advice, obviously.

Both. On one side the angst about Tomlin is easy to mock. On the other side tradition is important to this organization, and had he left more classy like, it would have been better for him.

Edit - I thought that Noll left it for Cowher, too? I guess I'm wrong here?

No SIR, I thought I had read Noll gave to Cowher and Cowher gave to Tomlin.

I heard when Mike McCarthy opened the fridge, he found two cans of IC Light and a 40oz bottle of Colt45.

Allegedly, the Colt45 didn't get to hang around long enough to document the proof..........................

Looks like he was told to pack up his s*it and get off the premises.

Dan Patrick was talking about Belichick and the HOF today and said: "What's going to happen when Tomlin's name comes around for the HOF? There no coaching tree there."

I have been saying this to my friends for a while, since that day. YES, it is very odd. Even Harbaugh, who got fired, had a long statement. A coach retiring, after nineteen years, should give an outgoing presser, ala Knoll and Cowher
It was plainly obvious that he hated the fans and city with the blown kisses. They were the equivalent of mooning the crowd. He was holding out hope that he'd get the last laugh and when he didn't, he bolted like the coward that he is. My opinion only.

Man, my response was a little "tongue in cheek".
The questions I'm asking myself are:
1. Who cares?
2. Why?
3. What's for dinner?
I guess you care. You've kinda said why - although for the life of me, I can't understand some folks' continued fascination with Tomlin. So, that leaves - "what's for dinner?"
I'm thinking Cod, fried potatoes and Mexican corn.
Ah yes, I had lasagna.

I didn't know about this gesture from Coach Cowher to Coach Tomlin; kinda neat.

This brought back a memory to me:
I was once met a former poster here, SteelChip, near his home in Interlachen, FL.
He was an awesome gentleman, and brought small gifts of Steeler stuff & trinkets for my boys, and the bottle of IC (with nuts!), in the pic below:

Chip was a great guy, a nice family man, a great contributor here, and has been missed greatly since his passing.

If you have one, please raise up a pint to SteelChip's memory!

We know he has a huge ego and it probably pissed him off royally that his critics were right again and he couldn't win a playoff game.

I remember his post(s), loved him !!!!!!

Salute to SteelChip

Rooney finally told the fraud to hit the bricks. He didn't like it and is off sulking somewhere.

Who knows...I'm just glad he's gone.
Most of us are also.

Which read was your favorite on that shelf?

He hasn't said anything new or different in a 'news conference' in 15 years! Why would anyone want to listen to his same old, tired, worn-out BS again?
That’s correct TheDude..
I kind of equate it to drinking white Russians every day for 15 years..
😉

I don't think anyone necessarily wants to hear recycled word salad - it's just a very strange way to leave after coaching for one the greatest teams ever, and especially for 19 years. It also doesn't fit his personality.

I personally think Art had a lot to do with it considering playoff performance, and if knocking up a young girl really happened, that's likely a big issue for his family life and the Rooneys probably don't like that look professionally. I realize other owners/teams could care less, but my opinion is that the Rooneys are different.
