Iran

I love how liberals continuously rail against Wall Street and billionaires until Trump does something that hurts the stock market then suddenly it’s “Oh noooooo! The stock market!”

Our 401k is down about 3%. Not thrilled about it but it’s not the end of the world.

I dunno about long term, we're nowhere near pondering such events in the future.

Short term? How about being on the same page with the single, and only, ally in this attack on Iran, that is Israel.

The fact that Trump, Rubio and Hegseth can't even get on the same page with a *single* strategic military partner speaks volumes about the utter incompetence in the WH.

Think of what the price of gasoline would be if Iran blew off a nuclear weapon in America.

$4 doesn't look that bad now, does it?

"the line would be shorter, so I could fill up and be on my way faster"
/Flog, definitely

Um, what? 😂 He’s the only one who’s done anything to stop it.
I think the word you were looking for was “imminent”. So you agree Iran was posing an imminent threat of nuclear attack? But you don’t like that Trump did something to stop it?
No, it was sarcasm. You criticize Obama and Biden but, if you believe Trump, Iran was never an eminent threat until his second term. Isn’t that a criticism of Trump?

Eminent (pronounced EH-muh-nuhnt) is an adjective describing a person or thing that is famous, respected, distinguished, or standing out above others, particularly in a specific field. It implies high rank or reputation, often used to describe scholars or experts.

Imminent (adjective, pronounced IM-uh-nunt) describes something, often undesirable, that is about to happen very soon or is impending, such as an approaching storm or threat. It implies an event that is likely to occur at any moment.

Trump reimposed sanctions after withdrawing from the flawed deal https://www.unitedagainstnucleariran.com/iran-nuclear-deal

I guess he was hoping they'd work, or he'd be able to negotiate a better deal that might actually be verifiable and prevent a future nuclear Iran? But through the year and a half of his first term and 4 full years of Biden's, Iran continued to enrich uranium and develop weapons systems.

Do I think the threat was currently imminent? I don't claim to know that, not being privy to the intelligence. My sense is he decided to do this while he had the chance as a lame duck president with a few years left in office. But I don't know what his real motivations were. I think in the long run this will be a good thing for the world, though it will cost the US a lot and hopefully not a lot of troops' lives.

I’m pretty sure someone here said the objective is regime change.
yeah, Sparky. you're catching on.
to do that, you need certain definite goals. once a goal is achieved, you move on to the next. then the next.

None of us here or in the media for that matter are privy to the goals and how they will be achieved in this operation.
And that's how it should be.
