Aaron Rodgers is Back for 2026

While I agree that's what I would do, Rodgers means they're going for 10-7 and a first-round playoff loss once again this year. Rudolph would be the best option as a backup to achieve this goal.
But then you lose one of your future starting QB prospects. I mean they put Howard or Aller on the practice squad it's more than obvious they'll be snatched up.

McCarthy wants to develop one of the other two we know that's a given. Mason is just an expendable backup.

Nice guy, sad that he'll probably be the odd man out.

They should cut Will Howard now. Rodgers needs some reps as starter. Allar should get the bulk of the rest because he's the upside guy that McCarthy hand picked. Rudolph has a role as the experienced #2 who can be ready on limited reps. There's just not enough reps to try to develop Allar and Howard.

It either goes well or he gets hurt and thrusts youth into the equation. I think with better coaching on both sides of the ball, a more solid roster this team can do better than 10 and 7. The scheme and talent and coaching should be better.

I think they still could use a little more depth at FS and WR. I overall understand why they did what they did and am ok with with it.

My thirst for winning unfortunately trumps my other wants.

NO. Get Rudolph TF out of here once and for all. BIZARRE that some still want to see more from him.

Tape,, wtf cmon man

What? It would actually be a favor to Howard. I want to have a good idea if Allar is the future by the end of this year. The 27 draft may have a bunch of available QBs. The worst scenario is if you enter next year unsure about Allar or Howard because they split reps all year.

nah. Howard could turn into a Jimmy Garapolo type while Allar could be Purdy.
Cutting Howard now when we all know the QB carousel gets spun up during the season is short sighted.

send Mason out. yesterday. finally.

Fans like who they like. I get he had some moments. Just not enough of them. Just you don’t deplete youth just to bring back a backup who you are well versed on his ceiling. Well versed in his deficiencies. They might shock me and keep 4 but yeah I send him packing. Unless he is ok with the PS….

It's not about wanting to see more from him. He's an experienced backup. You need one of those on the team. Rodgers is old.

If the steelers didn't sign Rodgers and they just wanted to roll the dice this year on Rudolph starting until Allar or Howard is ready, it would mean they were punting on 26 as a developmental year.

Signing Rodgers means they want to win this year. That means no room for 2 backup QBs with zero NFL snaps.

I just would not send Howard packing and not for the reason some would think. By all reports he is an extremely hard worker and that hasn’t changed this offseason. So I am curious where his floor is.

You school him and Allar in camp with a competent offensive coach. I would at least want that look.

Some ill people on here.

Steelers plan to miss the playoffs; they want an excellent draft pick.

They do want to see what the young qbs can do, and I’m sure Rodgers wants to play few snaps.

Translation: they are going to play the young qbs this year, and Rodgers provides an experienced backup who may start the season if none of the kids are ready.

Not having to throw young qbs into the fire is not a bad thing.

A cool 22 mil. Perhaps that 15 made him wait a NY second..
I would not have given him a dime over 15. Like I said in another post it's like they are scared shitless of having a bad season.

Part of this had to be to please McCarthy.

LOL...if you think Rodgers is going to be a backup you must also be an ayahuasca aficionado.

Just depends on wants right? I want to win yesterday, today, and tomorrow. A bridge free agent starter makes between 15-25 per year. He makes 25 with incentives I can live with it.

The issue is they feel they are contenders, this shows by bringing Rodgers back... and teams dont go into a season they think they have a shot with two virtual rookies... compounding matters is that in 2019, the Steelers caved to fan pressure and kept Duck Hodges to go with inexperienced Mason Rudolph while trading Josh Dobbs, them Ben went Down and their season was screwed... so you probably wont see them do it again.. drafting allar meant barring injury, Howard is gonna have to have a lights out super camp otherwise he is probably getting dealt or cut

I told yinz he'd be back.
Of the four QB's we have, he's the best.
Matt Stafford or Gardner Minshew aren't coming.

In the words of Dee Snider

“If that’s your best…your best won’t do!”

We’re not gonna take it
No we ain’t gonna take it
We’re not gonna take it anymore

What a dumbazz **** for brains clinging to mediocrity owner the Pittsburgh Steelers have.

Rodgers was mid last year and ain’t getting better, but sure throw the chicken **** scared of contact geriatric QB back there for another run that is GUARANTEED to go absolutely nowhere.

This move likely sets the franchise back at least 2-3 more years.

Effing clown show of an organization
May as well be the Stains with how bad they are screwing up a QB situation
