Many thousands of people have suffered emergency medical situations while a wearing seatbelt. Some people will argue that something other than the seatbelt caused it as it’s still exceedingly rare.

He would argue that water isn't wet. The typical Dim, and the reason that the political spectrum in this country will never return to center, because giving even an inch, in their minds is inconceivable, logic be damned, forward, no matter how insane it gets.

Highly unlikely. About the only example would be a car being submerged in water and the passenger being too panicked to unbuckle.

The exception isn’t the rule.

I don’t know but they should. The rear seat passenger will likely injure or kill not only themselves but also the front seat passenger.

Are you trying to claim that states advise rear seat passengers to not wear seatbelts?

Yes. When I read something on social media I don’t necessarily take it as being factual even if I’d like to believe its true. That’s CRITICAL thinking.

Actually, the seat belt issue is widely known. There are several ways seatbelts can be death traps... if you are trapped upside down or with your weight fully on it in some other way, they may not release... also if it takes damage it can jam. Sometimes tgey fail to release just from the force of the impact jamming them... this is known... happens with enough frequency they make a tool for first responders.

A small percentage of people die from being trapped by seatbelts in a car that prevents them from escaping a dangerous situation like it being on fore or underwater... others arent able to get medical attention in time because of it.. and in cases where its not front to back impact, the belt can hurt more than help... getting tboned, for instance...

Famously Fox in the 90's had one of those caught on tape shows that had a guy who was in an accident and his belt jammed... the first responders on the scene couldnt get him out for several minutes... and you heard his screams as a fire slowly engulfed his car... iirc the fire department was able to get the fire extinguished but he was severely burned ...

The pro seat belt argument is that more lives are saved by them than hurt or lost because of them... but that is somewhat subjective... they count everyone wearing a seatbelt in an accident as a life saved... so its biased high for sure... still a good idea though...

2011-2019 everything they tried it on failed in clinical trials... pharm
Companies were out a couple billion in research for a product that they could not sell because it still had an abnormally high blood clotting issue as well as potential reproductive issues...

2020 Trump gave moderna a billion dollars and free access to its competitors patents to provide a vaccine quicker than a traditional one could get made
Pfizer bitched and moaned till they got the same deal..

2021 the Vaccines were initially made available to the most vulnerable population First.
Then it was made available to general adults

This was fine... it was when the Pharmas got greedy and wanted it to be approved for pregnant women and the under 17 group they ****** up... also that emergency approval shouldnt have let them skip clinical trials on other MRNA stuff... it needs to all be traditionally vetted and all the research needs to be public ....

George Carlin used to warn about people whose politics defined their self image... said you couldnt debate them because to them, challenging their position on a subject was challenging them personally..

Now he likely was talking about the little old church lady mentality from the far right back then... but thats the exact same stuff going on with the left these days
