Final 2026 Roster

So let’s talk kick returning…

Is it Wetjen, Eli, or maybe even Roman?

Would like to see all 3 get some chances

Only in practice, pick one and get him focused, obvious the consistently hot hand in practice gets the nod………

Salute the nation

aint no way.

Why he is on the 53 remains to be seen. I would have kept Doug Nester as a back up tackle. At least we would have 4. SPencer Anderson played center , and we have Hoffman too. McCollum to me doesnt measure up.
I’d make a move at tackle. But based on the roster they were working with he was a lock. There’ll be veteran OTs available.

My guess is Monday they put Howard on IR with a concussion and resign Roberts, but who knows?
Word out is he was surprised by the move and wished the Steelers well. Doesn’t sound like a team entertaining resigning him.

Anywho IMO their depth concerns are at T, S, and WR. I would add a T or S before I would add an ILber which seems more like a luxury signing in comparison….

Not many surprises.

RB - I thought Nichols would make the team. Interesting to see Heidenreich is listed as a RB/WR. I still think he can be valuable, but they need to get him in space and use him more as a receiver than as an inside runner.
I suspect they had Heidenreich running inside during the preseason to see if he could handle that role and are more comfortable with his receiving abilities. It’ll be interesting to see if and how much they use him as a 3rd down back.
OL - Not a surprise, but it was clear McCollum would make the team after Jones was traded. It still feels like we need an OT.

DL - I was not expecting Kevin Jobity Jr. to make the roster. Glad Rubio is on there, he seemed like a lock after his preseason performance.
I heard Jobity has very impressive measurables. I guess his dad played professional basketball.
Other than that, the roster went as expected. In terms of depth...safety is THIN.

the 4 qb situation pushed him out the door. imo

Who would you have cut among the four?
Rudolph. We, and the rest of the NFL, know who he is and what he brings to the table (little).

I think we are fine at WR. We have 2 very good WRs, a promising rookie, a gritty football player in Ben, Wetjen has shown some big play ability, and who knows what with Wilson. Our TEs are more than capable, Eli is supposedly a good receiver, and our other 2 RBs aren't bad. Tackle and safety are certainly question marks, but we also don't have that elite guy at MLB. Without an elite player i feel we have to do matchups based on guys specialties. Queen and Wilson in theory complement each other well. If we have to go big, we just don't have that extra pure run stuffing guy. Hopefully our scheme can hide some of that and we actually use our DL properly.

It isn’t that the overall body of players at TE etc. doesn’t help it does. And the 1 2 punch at WR is solid. I just think having no experience behind that in a 5 WR capable corps 6 if you count Eli is shaky. That is 4 players with little to no NFL experience. And the one who has a little experience has underwhelmed (Wilson).

Part of the issue last year was you had only one WR that would make teams take notice. For now you have two. Let one of those go down and you are in a similarly looking situation that set you up for failure last season…

For once we agree. Although Roberts is the only cut I’m questioning and there’s a lot of speculation he’ll be back.
