Steelers select Dri Archer in Round 3

Hoping he plays well isn't the same as pointing out that 99% of the players his size don't make it in the NFL. I didn't like the pick. I gave reason why I didn't like the pick. Others compared him to players of similar size. Why can't I do the same? OH because a few fucktards don't like it? Then I get branded a "hater" just because the same circle jerk can't stand the fact someone doesn't bow at the black and gold alter? People that can't give an honest opinion because all they see is black and gold. Bunch of hypocrites. Yes, they can compare him to other players but they squeal like little girls when someone else does it.

I've already discussed my allegiance to the Steelers. I don't need to defend it. But I'm not going to tow the company line when I don't like a draft pick. You people act like school girls. If the clowns had taken him you wouldn't think so highly of him. Right? But somehow because the Steelers drafted him it changes your entire scouting process. Well for those of you who even knew who he was before he was drafted.

Eh, I don't have a scouting process, I watch who they draft, listen to the experts, watch some film, and wait for Pre-Season and the regular season. Seems that since 3rd round picks are between 25% and 15% (depending on what numbers you want to go with) successful in the NFL in the first place, ANYONE picked at that level is going to be a long shot to make the team. That being said, most draft people seem to at least like this guy, oddly, more negativity is found about this pick here, on this board, than pretty much anywhere else. I suppose I'll wait and see, and we'll be seeing this thread every game from both sides.

The nice thing is, if he does great, I'll be thrilled, if he doesn't I'll be disappointed, but I will also know it was a 3rd round pick, and it does happen in the NFL.

I'm a realist, but I like to hope for the diamond in the rough, that is when it's my team, and you're right, if the clows had picked him, I would be hoping he sucks. Doesn't that kinda make sense? I suppose not in your world.

The Hines Ward page!! Excellent.

Again you have issues distinguishing between "hope" and "evaluation". I "HOPE" he does well here. If the clowns had drafted him I would "HOPE" he sucked. However, when I evaluated him I didn't think he could play in the NFL long term. IF you change your evaluation because of who drafted him then it wasn't a true evaluation. Hasn't there ever been a player that you liked that you cringed when he was drafted by another team because you knew he was going to be good? Yup, and after they drafted him you didn't start saying he sucked and changing your mind about his abilities. You just hoped you were wrong and "hoped" he sucked for them.

Also 25%- 15% bust in the 3rd... ok do you want to keep those odds or make those odds less? Do you draft a guy that has 0% chance of ever starting, his size hasn't worked in the NFL in decades and at the very best is Dexter McCulster (a guy you could have gotten in FA for very little money)? Not me. I'll take a higher rated WR.

Well, that settles it. If only the Rooney's would have reached out to you in time to avoid certain disaster.

No love for Eric Green. This is bullshit

Funny to read LeGarette Blount's quotes from yesterday, talking about the Steelers dynamic offense. He must also be a crazed Dri Archer-kool aid drinking lunatic...how dare he mention a guy that - according to our resident draft experts - won't even see the field this year, or will get snapped in two if he does?

On what he likes about the Steelers offense:

“It’s a power, downhill running game. You’ve got a quarterback that has won a couple of Super Bowls and is going to be one of the best to play this game. I like everything about it. It’s dynamic with Antonio Brown, with Dri Archer. It’s going to be good, I like it.”

Well, that settles it. If only the Rooney's would have reached out to you in time to avoid certain disaster.

Where did I say that settled anything. You're a lying hypocrite. Isn't that what a Steelers board is for? I'm sure you have no original thoughts and probably don't even watch football. You must not be able to handle having your *** handed to you and your now reaching for straws.

football.....

You must not be able to handle having your *** handed to you.
Please enlighten me exactly when and where I've had my "*** handed to me." You've been stuck on this phrase for a while now...just trying to understand your unique perspective.

Tibs somewhere during his diatribe you had your *** handed to you. Just accept it.

Ugh @ the thought that only 2 years ago at this time, Isaac Redman was the only sure thing at RB we had.

O_O

You're not trying to understand anything. You get caught in your hypocrisy and are now trying to diminish it. But keep trying to reach for those straws.

So no, I haven't. You're seeing and hearing things. No problem man, it happens, just wanted to make sure.

Another brilliant point from Tibs butt boy.

Handed me my *** too huh. You're on an *** handing roll there Vader

Eric Green was here and not resigned for some reasons that dealt with controlled substances. Eric green was a good player but in my opinion never played up to his potential, which was sky high. In contrast Hines was a constant over achiever who played at a level much higher than he should have been able to. So in the comparison Hines will likely win all the time.

Here's Antonio Brown pointing out how he and Ben don't think Archer "can play in the NFL long term" what a terrible pick he was and how he reminds them of Chris Rainey. /sic

Another addition is Dri Archer. What can he bring?

He is another weapon. I am sure Ben (Roethlisberger) is licking his chops. We are all excited to have so many great additions to the group and we are excited to get working with those guys and get them accustomed to what we are doing, adjusted to the plays Todd Haley calls, and get rolling.

Purely sarcasm on my part my man. I loved Hines. Classic example of measureables meaning ****.

You write a paragraph telling me I can't compare Archer to another player because he hasn't played yet. I point out your ignorant blatant hypocrisy and then you start with the cute little posts that are not related to anything you previously wrote or what I said. You're a hypocrite. I guess if I compared him to Barry Sanders that would be ok right? Yup, because only those Archer worshippers like yourself can compare him.

Handed me my *** too huh. You're on an *** handing roll there Vader

You're just a follower waiting for someone else to make a point you can agree with. I guess ignorance is bliss.

Woo hoo go Vader go. After 87 pages the person who didnt like pick and has already stated why. The question is why are you even opening this thread?

No, you can do whatever you want, just don't let them see you sweat. You've been working overtime trying to make Archer look bad. For whatever reason, I'm not entirely sure. I guess you need to continue to verify your pre-draft assessment of the player and are fearful of what happens if it turns out he can play.

I guess if I compared him to Barry Sanders that would be ok right?
Yes, that would be perfectly reasonable. A nice target to set for a diminutive yet electrifying player such as Archer.

Never let them see you as a hypocrite... too late for that with you but keep trying. Like I said, you people are just a circle jerk click that love anything and anyone black and gold. Regardless of your own pre-draft beliefs you love whatever the Steelers do. Like sheep looking for a shepherd. I'd rather be truthful about my opinion than be a hypocrite.

Like I said before, if Archer were a clown you'd hate him and make fun of them for taking a smurf RB in the 3d round. But since the Steelers took him (and they can do no wrong), you love the pick and think he is a great player.
