Steelers select Dri Archer in Round 3

How is 3rd round pick a gamble? Technically they are all gambles. Why all the haters?

Dont say haters!! Aww man its too late

Nevermind the only other player we considered taking @3.97 we still got with the next pick.

I bet they debated hard for Bryant. If so, Archer would have been gone. I cant wait for his first return td!

Yeah Baby! kicking it old school

the only reason I'd give him a chance in the slot is our QB.
While Archer may not have lit the world on fire in the slot at KS, you'd also have to consider the QB for KS.
quick - who is he?

and therein lies my hope for Archer. While Ben isn't the most pin-point passer, he's inarguably a **** ton more precise than any QB at KS.

Lining him up as a RB and then pre-snap into the slot and forcing a bigger, slower LB on him may be the best thing for him.

Although, it wouldnt be long until DCs figure out that when Archer is on the field, we'd be more than likely to pass...which would bring in a DB.

Haley would have to be awfully creative.

Archer hasn't signed yet because he feels like he is being short changed by the Steelers.
Yahoo Sports 6/8/2014 Dri Archer "I always feel like I am getting the short end of the stick, like I am being short changed. Who short sheeted my bed at camp? I was reading a short story and the coaches made us run a few short laps. I put my shorts on one leg at a time. I hope my experience in Pittsburgh isn't a short one. When the check came I was $2 short. I am much taller than da plane da plane guy."

Actually I dont if you watch his film he runs quite well inside. Hits it hard. With the ball in his hands diplays great vision and balance. I said he may never be Wes Welker **** he may never be Lance Moore in the slot. But i think he will dictate matchups. Are you going to stay in base and attempt to cover him with a LB or will you bring a safety down. Giving Brown and Wheaton one on one opportunities. Will teams come out in nickel giving Bell and Blount chances to run against smaller defenses?

He runs very well inside at KST. I just worry about him in the NFL in front of this OL. These guys aren't hole openers. Bell has to pick a spot and try to break through. If I'm defending him in the slot, I play base defense with a CB close to the OL. I know the Steelers are going to use the bubble screen or a quick pass most of the time. IMHO Archer is going to make the team on STs. If he can handle PTs and KR then he'll have a better chance.

With that said Ben does throw a nice catchable ball quite the opposite of
The QB in "show me the money "

Bens gonna go no huddle and explode with Brown ,DHB, Wheaton, archer, Miller and throw in a Blount
impressive but some how Moore gets it across the middle.

Seven(rings) wide *******!!!

I think Archer makes this team as a change of pace runner. Unless he gets hurt (not out of the question) I think that roster spot will be safe for a few years........... Do not see him tanking, it will be if he can hold up physically IMO and can he hold onto the ball to keep him off the bench. His two biggest obstacles, will determine his shelf life.

Nobody has said he has 0 chance... nobody. But that's what me and several others have to deal with all the time from you people. You make up **** out of thin air and want us to defend it when it isn't even close to what we said. Hell TMC won't even post anymore because of it. Why is telling the truth so hard? The coaches say he won't be a starter. He wasn't used much in college because of fear of injury. The FACT is that in the NFL he is "maybe" a PR, KR trick play guy. I wouldn't draft that in the 3rd round. Is that clear enough?

Right, you ************* have all just been saying he has a .000000000000001% chance, just in case. I'd have more ******* respect for you if you came down firmly and said he'd never have a shot, at least that would show some ******* stones.

Don't you UNDERSTAND? NONE of that MATTERS! We COULD have taken at least 10 other players that we'll wish we had taken years from now!

I swear, it's like some of you aren't even reading this thread. :)

of course not. one who can see the future does not sully their prognostications with guys who could be had later.

Where is the damn karma button when you really need it.

This is such a limp attempt at smack that I'm not sure where it's even going. Then again, coming from the guy who told me that Colclough and McFadden panned out as good, solid second-round picks.. I'm not surprised.

Indeed. There about three posters desperate to keep it going. I think they've quit their jobs to stay home and watch the thread. Every 0.003 pages or so, one jumps in to comment on Archer's sheer greatness. Then back to keeping the thread warm and safe, like an egg.

Slow month in many of their lives.

Lol yet you're in it every chance you get to tell everyone the opposite.

only to correct the wrongs by those 3 people who stalk him.

How dare we show such insolence and continue to say he could be good when King Joffrey has already said he will suck. I must continue to post it till they listen to me *stomps feet*

is this the thread everyone is using to post their post count?

Says the dude who posts a Dri Archer article almost daily and continues to re-type the same posts day in, day out.
