We will not live in our fears. Just in our stupidity.

I don't know if there's any logic to when he goes for it and when he doesn't, whether it is for two or on fourth down. The fake was an awful play call and it was a bad decision to not try for the score at the end.

exactly

he should really stop following his so called gut instincts

So you basically are saying he is damned if he does or damned if he doesn't. Gotcha.

You put your team and players in the best situation to win. If that was the best we had then so be it. But he fooled no one with Jones coming in the field and Ben watching in that scenario.

I think Tomlin has done an excellent job keeping the team together and ready to play in the face of all the adversity that we have encountered this year.

Unfortunately because of all that adversity we simply cannot overcome in game coaching mistakes.

While everybody was blaming the kicker for the loss to the Ravens, it was Tomlin's coaching decisions that buried us. We were kicking when we should have been going for it and going for it when we should have been kicking. Exact same thing tonight. except now, we can't place the blame on some idiot kicker.

I heard some local radio guys (Starkey I think) say that Tomlin's coaching decisions have probably cost us two to possibly three games this year.....make that 4.

I still think we can run the table.......but at some point Tomlin has to learn from his mistakes.

Big boy Ben nice pick was nice too.

Like I said if you're going to go for it use Ben and the offense but a better pass by back up QB it's at least a first down. You can read Landry lips saying my bad on the sidelines. The same guy most are bitching about not being used on the critical 4th down where we should of went for it apparently

only way that arrogant coach can learn is to stop making the decisions and let his coordinators make them

I'd still like an explanation on the challenge. From what they said he didn't throw his flag. And when the Seahawks had close calls the Steelers got barely a look as the refs must have literally ran to the line of scrimmage. Wheaton didn't catch that but they should have got a play off before he got a good look. Because first look was a catch.

I have to wonder if Tomlin wasn't a bit more aggressive with the refs we would have gotten a few more PI calls. I hate the whining and bitching some players and coaches do but I think at some point you do have to work the refs a little bit...this was ridiculous...Sherman was all over Brown and shoved him to the ground on that interception. I'm not usually one to cry about calls but come on...

That trick play was another needless ploy that reversed the game completely into the hags favor. We never regained what we gave right to them. That was a major boneheaded fuckup.

Yeah, the best in the game was treated like a practice squad player by Sherman and the refs.At times the contact was over the top and not a single PI.

The players blew it today. I know it is popular to rip the coach, but in most of these situations you can point to a player screw up. On the fake field goal, if Jones gets more on the ball, Villenueva has a step. He just does. On the long TD at the end, all Dupree has to do is get his hands up and he knocks the ball down. Then they are in position to need only a field goal to win it, and Tomlin's decision to go for the FG looks good.

I'll never appreciate his decision to go for the FG there. Yes the defensive players blew the final drive, but they've been blowing every drive in the 2nd half. You have to be aware of that and go for the lead and not put the defense in the position to get you another possession. Because they were never going to.

I will freely admit the going for it or kicking the field goal is a tough call. I probably even lean towards field goal. The fake field goal is in defendable and beyond stupid. I just find that Tomlin's gut rarely works. He ***** it up more times than not.

I didn't like the call at all but Big AL was open twice

You can always fall back on the "IF play X just did this". But the fact is that having a cold backup QB throwing to a LT is just stupid. I don't care if the LT played WR or basketball 5 years ago. He's a LT now and has NEVER played WR in the NFL. You can always point to a player but Tomlin lost this game period. He put his team in position to lose because he had the wrong player on the field at the wrong time.

You can make a case on the field goal. Especially in light of Ben's injury. The Jones interception. C'mon dude is he your cousin. That was so ****** dumb in every light. If you want to do that have a qb as the holder because I don't imagine the Aussie punter can throw. And run a fake. That formation was so stupid. He took the snap 8 yards back.

Part of being a coach is knowing who you can count on to make a big play under pressure, and who you can't.

fifYinz

as not only does he put Landry in when he should have kicked the FG

but he signed his washed up buddy in Vick

and refuses to bench Blake

going for the wrong players on the field

his trademark is turning into this

as he is horrible with personnel decisions...

I bet the fake field goal worked like a champ in his Madden 98 simulation that he ran between quarters..

At least he got us those 7 yards back on his challenge. That's a plus.

On the fake FG I dont mind going for it, but my two options would have been A.) Let Ben and the real offense in there or B.) Call a timeout when Seattle got aligned perfectly out of the FG formation and then either kick a FG or go for it with Ben. The FG at the end of the game is beyond moronic to me. He always talks situational football. The situation was you are losing, running short on time, the D was getting torched, and you need a TD. How many punts did Seattle have the second half? Without Ben in there it would have been tougher, but it could have given Landry a chance to redeem himself. A FG is useless there.

Boykin needs to play NOW he can not be worse than blake. In the pregame to the Pats game they showed how Blake was not even playing the proper technique on the TD to Baldwin. He should have been playing inside instead of outside. He had no chance to stop that play from the start. Not sure if that is on the coaches or just blake messing up?

That's true. It will probably make the highlight reel at the end of this season. :puke2:

No...it WAS Scobee.....nothing less, nothing more....if he EXECUTES or does his job, we win.

Dude is just a B- coach at best. That's all there is to it.

B-? What is above average about Tomlin?

Besides being an A+ bullshit artist during halftime interviews and press conferences, I don't see anything.

When you ***** out and leave the game in the hands of your porous defense without the lead, you certainly are "living in your hopes." Hey Mikey -- go hope in one hand and **** in the other, and see which one fills up first.

Pathetic.
