I almost started a new Tomlin thread but figured we had enough people that would do that soon enough so I'll post it here.

Mike Tomlin thank you for the job you did with this team this year. I haven't been someone that's been real vocal on Tomlin but I have stated that I really didn't care for his style , and that I thought that the only reason he was here was because of the Rooney rule. This year I really tried to pay attention to how other coaches were throughout the season, and not one of them were even close to perfect, the bone headed play calls the time management and just overall stupid decisions run wild among NFL head coaches.

MT you did a very good job with the cards you were dealt this year. You showed me the control you had over this team in the Cincy game, you showed me that you can make half time adjustments in the first Denver game, and you showed me a team that buys into what you are saying, and just won't quit on you all ******* year. You Mr Tomlin should be in the conversation for coach coach of the year. Even in the loss last night I don't think I have ever been any prouder of this team, players and coaches alike. thank you for a great year.

This team showed heart.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with showing emotion after such a trying season.

I'm glad Tomlin showed he's passionate about this team.

Next year is our year.

It could be said that given the suspensions and injuries the team had to work through this year that it was Tomlin's best coaching job. And I'm not a "Shades is always right" guy.
Everyone is toeing the company line that injuries are not an excuse but we all know that's bullshit. Your first-stringers and All Pros are first-stringers and All Pros for a reason and your third-stringers are third-stringers for a reason.

I am far from a Tomlin supporter, but i have no problems with him crying. Sure it is just a game, but it is an emotional one. There is a lot of time, blood, and sweat invested. I think it shows that at least he cares. If anything i gained more respect for him over it.

Also we had a damn good shot of going to NE and winning if AB and DW are able to play. It sucks and it hurts. No problem with Tomlin feeling a way. Like I've always said whatever he does will be criticized.

I don't think it was anything more than a proud coach of the way his team played hard and stuck together over a difficult season.

Sounds like he was proud of his team and their efforts. All it tells me is he gives a ****. Which is good.

He held this team together and got them a lot further then anyone thought they would get considering the amount of injuries and other things.

Look at just the amount of time we lost Ben. Just look at Dallas. I believe Romo went down around the same time.

Credit should be given for turning over the entire rooster and still has kept the team competitive through the process.

Moments like this what makes a team come together. Young players need to experience loss in order to learn how to win those big games.

They got that this year which will be great for them growing and becoming a team. After going through these battles together and having a team & a coach they want to play for will make them better.

They had the toughest schedule in the nfl and had the most injuries at key positions.

Yes it hurts, but me I see good things for this team. They are young and have a lot of talent.

I admit I was on the fence and thought this was a year we would see what tomlin really is as a coach.

Well all and all I think he did a good job. Was it perfect? No. Is he flawed? Yes. Which coach isn't?

No one is perfect and it doesn't have to be one or the other. You can accept him without being a nut hugger or jock sniffer.

You can be critical without being a hater or a racist. This is supposed to be entertainment and bring enjoyment.

I get upset as much as the next person but I have to admit the Steelers know what they are doing. They continue to remain in the top ten almost every year. Now if we didn't see any future like Cleveland then I could see the anger and frustration, but this is the process of building a team that can compete for a title. I think we are on the right path and this season is just a part of the journey back to a championship.

Good job Tomlin & players for a entertaining season. See you next season.

i don't know that the Ratbirds injury situation was any worse than ours and they finished 5-11.

It's a game, for entertainment. These guys are getting paid boat loads for a GAME they love to play. It doesn't upset me a bit to see Tomlin cry ( oh no, he cares). I'm even past players smiling after a tough loss like this as their offseason has begun. These guys are all blessed to be doing something they love.

For better or worse, Cool Shades is one of the top five or six coaches in the NFL. Sure he does boneheaded **** once in a while, all coaches do, hell Belicheat even elected to kick off to start OT this year, but given the number of games missed by significant players I'd say the team actually overacheived.

There sure as hell were not any Steelers fans laughing and smiling in my household after that loss. Before it started, I felt really unreasonably optimistic about the game vs. Denver. I also felt that once they beat Denver, on the road, with AB and Williams out, then those 2 would come back and the Steelers would roll.

No problems with Tomlin's reaction and have a greater respect for him displaying his emotion. It is tough to reach an AFC Championship game and Super Bowl and the Steelers had the game in hand. In all likelihood, a field goal on that drive would have been enough to send the them to New England. They were that close and it was fumbled away. That is tough to stomach.
