Apparently business is booming in Ft Lauderdale

Some call homes "mansions" when they really aren't. But I'd say 14 baths, 18,000 sq ft.....IS a mansion.

Honestly. I wouldn't pull the trigger YET on a $4 million pad making what AB is now. I would probably hold off until my NEXT contract. Technically, he made $8 million last year, but in reality, he only pocketed $4 million.

Yes, paying one year's salary for a house is considered conservative, except in his case, he only has a few more years making that kind of scratch, so you go to keep that in mind.

Be careful, AB. Don't blow it.

Unless he has one huge *** family, I would say he is already blowing it.

Hines sold his big *** mansion in Atlanta after he retired.

That's a bit too much for his salary. Holy fock! Why am I surprised?

I'd say he is at least "trending that direction."

I am sure one of the things that sold him was that property values are going up, so spending this money was an "investment."

Problem with that thinking is sometimes property has bubble burst just like stocks. And upkeep on a mansion is pricy.

These athletes become delusioned into thinking their income will be there far longer than it will be. Did you ever see the mansion Evander Holyfield bought for the "family he will have someday." He didn't even live in it.

Pretty sure he can't afford it any longer, unless those burger commercials really take off.

Ever see Derek Jeter's house in Tampa? 33,000 Sq feet. One helluva bachelor's pad.

How many servants do you have to hire to keep it clean?

Not too shabby. But nothing compared to Teet's crib in Casheirs, NC. You can't slide down dirty creek rock beds anywhere near Jeeter's crib.

AB is going to go broke after football... Probably why he keeps hawking bullshit on his Facebook

Why do I feel he is gonna go "for broke" on a new deal, end up on a ****** team, with a QB that will reduce him back to what he was in Ben's absence, which isn't much.

In 2007 that place sold for 1.2mill, so Antonio thinks yes it will go up. BIG risk.
Just the cleaning staff alone adds up, yet alone the physical upkeep too !!!

These players income is sort of like a lottery winner. They get big chunk and think they can never ever go broke. It's not the initial cost of things that bankrupt them but the cost of continual expense associated to the purchase. License plates / insurance / house cleaners / plumbers / hvac / utilities / oil changes / ect. ect. just to name a few. This adds up and the purchaser doesn't even think at the time of purchase. His HOA (home owners association) monthly fee is over a THOUSAND dollars a month. How much are property taxes????? It adds up and bankruptcy is on the way.

Antonio has a house less than a mile from mine, I think he paid $1.9 million. Chump change for him. Troy has a house near me that is even more modest, probably $600-$700k.

Who the **** is Clete?

Far too Victorian for my tastes, just sayin'

In my line of work I run into many people with big houses who say "It didn't look this big on paper".

must not be a dog lover with that flooring...............

just sayin

Funny you say that and I'm a dog / cat lover too. The first thing I thought was "Antonio, I hope you don't slip and break a leg or something due to these slippery floors" WHooAolly ****
