To all the haters

The problem, Josh is that one would hope that a bunch of yinzers on a ******* message board weren't actually better qualified to prepare a plan of attack for the offense and defense in the AFC Championship game than our 3 Stooge coaches. Sadly, that appears to NOT be the case.

In fact it looks like Hoodie reads our ******* board. THEY were smart enough to use a ******* flea-flicker.

But not the Steelers coaches. They figured they'd just pound D'Angelo in there without a fullback for ******* kicks.

The lack of a true #2 finally bit us in the ***. This feels like the game where Bryant's suspension ****** us. Sure, there were points during the season, but when we needed someone to make a big play and spark us last night, no one could do it. Eli Rogers had a nice game, but he's a slot guy. Cobi Hamilton, nice story, made some catches for us this year, but is what he is; no more than a fourth option. DHB has been a decent Steeler pick-up, but is a special teams only kinda guy. This brings me to Sammie Coates, the guy many many fans thought would make Bryant expendable. I'd like to give a big "**** you" to Coates. Ben has tried and tried and tried this season to make this guy a star and the dude constantly falls flat on his face. He had damn near 500 receiving yards through 6-7 games, averaging som absurd amount per catch, and did absolutely nothing after that point. I don't wanna hear about his fingers either, because drops have always been this dudes problem. If it wasn't for his somewhat high draft status, I'd say him and Hamilton battle for the 4-5 spot next year. Really, the only difference between him and Sweed is the fact that Coates had one huge game in his career, and to be totally honest, I'll take Sweed blowing up that rats dback in the AFC Championship game over Coates and his garbage.

Nobody will expect the fade route to Hamilton on fourth down......BRILLIANT!

that zone scheme will fool no top QBs

it has to be changed

and yes Bryant and Coates were significant reasons the O stalled.

He's the head coach. He helped put the plan in place so of course. That's always been my point. If he gets the blame when we lose he should get credit when we win. That's has always been my point. See how you belittled any contribution he had in getting us to today's game. Squeaked by KC. SMH. It's the same ol ****. We win it's not him we lose its all him. That **** don't fly with me. For any coach.

Well there it is. Hallelujah. You've actually assigned some blame directly to Tomlin. Never thought I'd see the day.

That being said, what kind of great gameplanning is needed to beat the Browns twice? Do you realize that the Steelers were favored to win 15 out of their 16 regular season games? The "we do what we do" Tomlin mantra was good enough to win 11 of those 15 games as favorites, but "that **** don't fly" against a superior opponent like the Patriots. Never has, never will. You have to adapt or die, and this season is dead.

if you lower your expectations from super bowl to afcn champs, it makes digesting tomlins coaching quite a bit easier.

And this is different from Bill C.? Tomlin has a better AFCCG record than Bill did and his nemesis was also the Pats* among others. This is not meant to defend the horrid gameplan this week. I am not sure wha they were thinking.

I've long said that Shades' natural state is around 10-6 and going one or two rounds into the playoffs. To get more than that you have to rely on 1) luck and 2) opponents screwing up.

Styles makes fights or on this case games. I don't believe we could of implemented a man to man scheme as I believe the only person capable is burns. We need to draft some guys.

they at least had to try because it couldn't have gone worse than what happened yesterday

I can't find it right now but this morning I saw a perfect meme of Tomlin from last night. He had his typical dumb blank expression and it said: "Zone defense isn't working. Better play more zone defense."

cowhers games were closer and he had less talent

Uhh.. no. Cowher had a lot better defenses in both 2001 and 2004 than this years defense. A loss is a loss.Sure, you want the game close but lets not argue who loss by less points here. That's for the Brown's message board. The one thing that was part of both Cowher and Tomlin's team is the zone blitz scheme of Lebeau.. I saw exactly that yesterday.

41-27 ring a bell? At halftime, New England was up 24-3. This on the tails of a 15-1 season. Or how about 2001 when New England jumped out to a 21-7 lead? Final score closer than what it really was. And Cowher had less talent? Really? I'm not trying to stick up for this coaching staff, but come on. These types of comments are completely ridiculous.

"Topshit" is the best you've got, ant(brain)? My, so clever.

So let me ax you something: Was the ****** gameplan on your boy Tomlin, or are you just blaming Butler? You know, because players play, and coordinators coordinate, amiright?

Really gentlemen, name calling , what is this the kids forum...geeze, how about discussing stuff without lowering your iq levels.

Cowher had hall of fame QB Ben Roethlisberger for 2 years, went to the AFCC game both times with him and the SB once and won it.

Cowher also had hall of fame QBs Kordell Stewart, Kent Graham, Tommy Maddox, Neil O'Donnell, Mike Tomczak, with some supporting guys like Tee Martin, Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich.

Ya, that's about even. Cowher had to roll through 5 or 6 starting QBs (No doubt Hall of Famers) in his career while Mike has had just the one. Yep. Apples to Apples.

Meanwhile, Mike has systematically dismantled Cowher's ****** defense so he can continually upgrade the marvel that IS the Pittsburgh scoring machine. You need a ******' FG? We got your guys!

****. Comparing the two is like comparing a real woman to a box full of tissue. If that's your thing - by all means, head off for the bathroom.

So far most of these comments, I agree with. This team surpassed MY expectations a couple games ago. I was even pondering whether they could hold it together 'till the end but in the end they were who they were. We still need some pieces. The receivers look set..except poor Coates, he lost his hands somewhere but then he was just a poor man's Bryant anyway.

The defense is young and incomplete. We are missing pieces on every layer plus I have some reservations about a couple coaches.......... that's not counting April.

I have high hopes for next season right now and can't wait to see who we can scoop up in the draft.

Thanks guys....good season

GO STILLERS

Uncle Butch?????

You don't believe the Steelers "could of" implemented a man-to-man scheme? Gay is most comfortable in the slot, so you put him on Edelman, who will get a few cookies in that matchup, I'll give you that.

But the capable Burns can't man up on Hogan? Shazier (the quickest linebacker in the league) can't cover Bennett? Gilbert (an outstanding man-cover corner at Oklahoma State) is "incapable" of keeping up with Malcolm Mitchell? Or Cockrell?

Really?

You've already said that the gameplan sucked. Don't change your tune now, man. Don't do it.

My IQ level is just fine, thanks.

And, FYI, I only broke out the dastardly "ant(brain)" after I was told to go **** myself in another thread.

This was directed at all the people name calling, you were just one of many..my point is you all have a lot of good points but just because you disagree with someone else's there's no need to take it to that level..just my opinion.

Perhaps you should have utilized the multi-quote feature instead of singling out my post, then. And you certainly could have made the same point without telling us that we've been lowering our "iq" levels.

Just my suggestions.

I think that is why I said gentlemen, didn't mean to offend just thought it might be nice to keep things civil seeing how we all cheer for the same team and we're not in a smack forum.
