After all these years Tomln should know by now this zone defense is more like a prevent defense vs Brady.

He'll score anyway so why not blitz more of the corner and up the middle and play man coverage forcing him to throw it quicker and take more hits??? You'll up your chances to get a turnover too.

Tomlin appoligists can you explain this please?

I see a lack of locker room control, poor preparation, poor selection as to who plays ( no Ayers) and zero ability to change things when the initial game plan is not working.

Why start thread after thread talking about the same thing. We know how you feel. For the love of God we know how you feel, you and every Tomlin hater out there. Regardless of my feelings either way on him we don't need thread after thread about it.

Mods any chance we can condense these all into one thread?

How many threads to we need to state the same exact thing?

This is different. I'm asking for explanations here and offering the backdrop of history. What is Brady now 22td's and 0 interceptions vs Tomlin coached teams?

It's not your board or mine. If you do not like a thread skip it. This is a football thread.

When the whole front page is littered with threads bitching about Tomlin it gets hard to find anything else and you are one of the biggest culprits. It is not like I am the only person to feel this way. I would like to see a variety of Different topics to discuss.

so come up with a topic, einstein

NE knew we would play zone, and NE game planned all week to go up tempo. What the **** did we do in practice all week? oh yeah game plan to play zone.

The problem with this is that everyone forgets we just reeled off 9 games in a row. This after a 4 game losing streak. How does Tomlin have no control over the locker room, and how does a poor game plan bring you to that conclusion? It's also hard to say poor preparation necessarily. They worked their gameplan to a T but this particular gameplan blows when served against the patriots*. Now, not changing things up and adjusting during the game is maddening, and that was on display last night. Tomlin, Butler, Porter, Lake, who the **** ever continued to go with that soft *** defense last night deserves criticism and rightfully so.

This is pretty much the factor that kills the Steelers against the cheats

Did you notice Brown and a handful of players in the infamous FB live video last week while Tomlin and Ben were talking? Then he fines someone making MILLIONS this year $10,000. That's like a $200 speeding ticket to most of us and does that stop anyone here from speeding again?

Coach starts a thread and rather than having productive football talk, it's the same lame replies. Similar approach that the Steelers took against the Patriots.

I was sick when they employed a scheme that was doomed for failure. On the one or two drives that they were able to get minimal pressure on Brady, he caved. We've failed too many times sitting back, go out attacking and trying to get to him rather than sit back and allow him to pick you apart. There is no logic or understanding to what the coaches were doing.

I think we should use the same defense all the other teams who beat the Pats this year did.

On the plays we got pressure it was because the player beat the man in front of him. That didn't happen enough. Brady is going to get the quick throws against zone. What absolutely couldn't happen but did is him standing back there all day. He was able to do that because no one up front won their battles. Everyone is screaming blitz but Brady eats the blitz. Win up front. Like Hargrave did. It didn't happen enough.

VERY true but one problem was 5 blockers against 3 rushers. Throw in a fourth and you still have a miss match.

Salute the nation

even when we blitzed the Pats seemlessly picked it up... and we did play man for a spurt and got toasted. every single thing was countered instantaneously... you cannot outscheme the cheat... you have to outtalent and outplay them..period. we did not. Thats what it came down to... they will know your playcalls... they will pick up all your tricks. If you want to ***** about tomlin, go back to leaving ben in late in Miami and never spelling Bell in these playoffs...

I hope you are not implying that Coach is an Einstein for coming up with all these grossly derivative topics.

No, he's looking for football comments. Come up with your own, or if you don't; agree with mine provide a contrary view.

Sitting on the sidelines throwing peanuts from a gallery is not going to impress anyone, but it might get some smiles from big time Tomlin backers.

My reply, SO WHAT. Hit him. He's going to get scores anyway, so why not make contact, get in his face, and perhaps either limit or KO him from the game or force a mistake? Play aggressive defense between the 20-yard lines.

This " vaglike " soft zone crap is a way to guarantee a loss vs Brady. We never learn. And its coaching deployment.

Hit who they didn't get close to him other then when Hargrave got to him. They blitzed and it was picked up perfectly

I give my opinion plenty I just don't feel the need to regurgitate it endlessly in thread after thread.

We rarely rushed more than 3 guys, thats 3 vs 5, and once in awhile we sent a fourth, 4 vs 5 with a soft zone will never work because he'll be able to get rid of the ball quick and easy with a zone.

You have to disguise your blitzes and defenses vs Brady, everyone knows that.

Tell me one difficult pass Brady had to complete?

My opinion on this game is with the players we have and their inexperience Brady would have picked us apart as bad or worse if we tried to completely change our scheme like we did in the win in 2011. I do not like the play calling within the scheme we did run but also did not like the execution of those plays by the players. After nine weeks of running our defensive scheme we were not going to be able to totally change that in one week against a player like Brady and a cheater like Belicheat. I put the blame on this pretty 50/50 players and Coaches. It is not like we lost to the Browns.

This was not the same defense we used over the winning streak, anyone with eyes could see than, harrison and dupree were in coverage more in this one game than they were the entire season combined.
