Ross in round one would be tempting.

He will be gone before we pick. Someone will fall in love with his speed

I could also go cb in 1, edge in rd 2

My thoughts are still TE in the 1st if one of the top 3 fall to us. When Green was in the game, he opened up our offense. Problem is that he can't get into enough games to help us, so he needs to be released.

A new, younger, faster, healthier TE would do more for this team right away than a pass rusher would, and Ben ain't got much time left. We can go all defense the rest of the way, and that should bring us some useful pieces in a draft this deep in defensive talent.

I was thinking one of those solid TE's would be there in two.

But good pass rushers do not last long.

DEBO can't play a full "STARTER" role for a whole season, pretty simple. I think our first pick should address this provided the value is there. If TE is BPA at 1.30 then I'm good but Remeber we need to address a defensive need and that needs to be a impact type player. NOT a injured / recovering player.

Would love a top tier TE in the first, but if we don't address our defense we are going to get blown out by NE in the playoffs again

There's an argument to be made that no matter how much talent you give Tomlin on defense, he will never be able to scheme and slow down Brady.

Maybe the only way is to score like hell, get them on their heels and win a shoot out. When Indianapolis finally got over the hump that's how they did it.

I certainly don't disagree with that logic either. We had the players going into last year to blow teams out and injuries and a suspension to Bryant really took away our threats at WR and TE and then we Bell's injury gutted us in NE on offense.

Even though it was mostly "Cowher's" players, the 2008-2009 Steelers had some good defense with Tomlin coaching. It was still the same FO back then though. We've just totally missed on too many players in the draft, Ziggy, Jarvis, etc. We need our guys to stick like last year's players did.

Well, that didn't take long.....

No it's the D's fault they didn't execute on the field. Specifically their slot defender.

As for Ross, before you anoint him ROY, remember he has had injury issues, and we had a one trick pony before. Name was Wallace, and he was replaced in this offense.

Did I say something false? It looks like Ross is a top 10-20 pick now. On our team with Ben and our weapons, he'd be great. On another team like say the Dolphins, not so much,

I think father time is our biggest ally vs Tom Brady. Our coaching was autoicous vs him.

One team executed well and was better prepared. The other team played the perfect defense to lose and did not adapt.

You contradicted your statement period. You say D played well down the stretch with Heyward out, but then blame poor coaching on their performance in the playoffs (specifically against NE I assume). Who coached them when they were playing well? You can't have it both ways. It's already been hashed back and forth the press scheme didn't work because they didn't have the personnel....I.e. Gay underperformed to make it work. The in game adjustment wasn't successful either, again because the personnel (nickel and dime backs, i.e. Gay and Golden) underperformed there too. Coaches coach. Players play.

Ross is a 1st rounder for specific teams who run particular schemes that he would be successful under. NO, SEA, NE, etc. He is also an injury risk. Heck he tweaked his hamstring during the combine, but props to him continuing. His upside would not be with PIT IMO.

Man he's going on 40. Sure he's going to slow some but he hasn't had the injuries and surgeries like Manning had in his career. This guy could potentially keep playing so long as his body doesn't betray him. The odds are not in his favor though, father time always wins at some point.

Brady treats his body like a sacred temple, and his game really does not require mobility or a big arm.

I flip back and forth between who is the real reason New England wins.

I think it's mostly their coach and a lot of luck, with Brady being very good, and the AFC east sucking for a decade.

Agree. One thing about elite athletes is the game slows down for them as they age. Unfortunately that usually is when their bodies start breaking down and then father time wins. Brady has not experienced this yet. He plays mostly out of the shotgun and they run a lot of underneath routes. He finds his open receivers and makes all the throws. I think he struggles with the long ball though.

A blazing fast slot man, an ace returner, and a package wide receiver to split wide and go deep.

Ben is the best deep passer in the NFL
