Martavis Bryant says he's close - Update - Finally Free

A source close to Bryant told ESPN that the wide receiver has outlined his 2017 rehabilitation plan for the league and is awaiting clearance.

"He's doing everything he can to cooperate with New York, as are we," coach Mike Tomlin said. "We're just simply waiting on the word from those guys."

Martavis Bryant was yanked from practice just before it started on Friday night

Coach Mike Tomlin declined to explain why Bryant thought he’d be permitted to practice.

“I have nothing new on that front,” Tomlin said, via Fittipaldo. “He’s doing everything he can to cooperate with the New York as are we. We’re just waiting for the final word from those guys.”

It’s still not clear what Bryant needs to do. In a separate article, Fittipaldo explains that the league is prepared to let Bryant practice “once he satisfies requirements.” The only requirement mentioned when Bryant was conditionally reinstated in April related to the making of arrangements for ongoing rehab in Pittsburgh.

The possible explanations are fairly limited. One, he hasn’t complied with that requirement. Two, he believes he has and the league believes he hasn’t, or at a minimum hasn’t determined that he has.

Three, something else is going on that we don’t yet know about.

If I were currently hanging out in the future home of the Raiders, I’d be tempted to slide my chips toward No. 3.

My guess is the NFL is dragging their feet... I see Ezekiel Elliot can still practice though... what a joke
 
My guess is that he was supposed to set some kind of rehab contacts up in Pittsburgh and he either hasn't done it to their satisfaction or he hasn't gotten it approved yet. I would think the Steelers would of helped him with that though ?

Pretty clearly there is a major problem here. Im not saying he tested bad or missed tests but this isnt a dot I cross T issue anymore. The Steelers are a near billion dollar franchise. If this was a jump through hoops issue they would have people to help him get it done.

Yep. Could not agree more. No way is it something minor dragging on for this long. Martavis is likely in trouble again.
 
There's no way things were not setup for Martavis to be reinstated before training camp started. This isn't on the team or league. He ****** up AGAIN somewhere along the way.

There was an article I read a few days ago and it said the overwhelming majority of these "delays" are due to the player being in further trouble. I hope that's not the case but the odds apparently are that it is.

I would have a tendacy to agree with you but Josh put himself out there to extend his SUSPENTION dilemma. He was partying extensively, roughed up or a property, connected to multiple reports of shield tarnishing. MB on the other hand has kept himself out of the spot light, done the things needed....... NOW obviously if there is something behind the scene that we don't know about and is justified........ Then MARTAVIOUS needs to be held accountable. When I say accountable I don't mean just to the NFL but also to the FANs as well. We as fans get the absolute m,inimal information possible yet the NFL wants us to follow them blindly. PUT THE ******* TRUTH OUt THERE !!!!!!

Im thinking more than a relapse his poison tree frog experiment could have caused a problem. When Colbert took his pads I know there is a major problem here. The worst is that the NFL is investigating weed as a pain killer. The Steelers could lose a major piece of the puzzle yet guys like Elliot and Jones play. Bullshit.

Gotchyaz.!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still say the NFL is lacking in information released to the fan. I get they don't want to dis the product but us fans, as supporters of the NFL should have a little better entitlement to information. Personally I don't financially $$$$$ support much NFL, unless it's STEELERS related, then it's more like artifact(s) collector's type stuff.

Unless the tree frog is specifically listed as illegal, I don't think the NFL will have a leg to stand on. The NFLPA better go after that if it does turn out to be the reason.

It may not be on the list...but it shows a continued behavior of him putting questionable **** into his body...
Which could be a technical violation of his probation..

If so...i would say he aint playing again this season..
