Martavis Bryant says he's close - Update - Finally Free

I dont think a "life coach" is neccasary, but I kinda think somene from the FO helping him navigate the expectations of the league to ensure he could participate might have been a tad helpful in this case. If indeed this is really a minor issue.

All you have to do is quit about a month and a half (to be safe) out of a fricken year.
It's thinking like that that gets you IN the program in the first place.

I'm just sayin'.

possibly... but the fact he couldn't even hold off for a short amount of time is worrisome.

I see he has been Bell-ing along practicing hard. I would think that would help but those lack of reps might hurt the team initially.......

When he finishes a regular season I will agree. I mean he is supposed to be doing sweet friggen nothing but football right now. So if he was simply not in full compliance, how hard is it to find out what you have to do and do it. And for that matter how hard is it to be prepared so that you are.

You're talking about the NFL/Goodell here... They/he will do whatever he can to make things harder on the Steelers. Remember they are the same people that fined Harrison 75K and then sold the picture of the hit on their website.

I might be in the minority he but Bryant has made his own bed...and now has to sleep in it...the Steelers knew full well what he was doing when they drafted him...while I would love for him to be out there practicing and hopefully he has turned his life's priorities around. Also...I will take a wait and see approach. Fool me once shame on you...fool me twice....well...**** you Bryant. And I will say it again...PROPS to the NFL for holding Bryant to a high standard before he can rejoin the team fully. The ball is in Bryant's court now. Well Bryant you are a MAN...so MAN up and get it done.

I think they do have someone like that but it doesn't mean the players will listen.

Bryant already did his time. NFL has said he is to be reinstated. All that remains is some kind of bureacracy that the NFL seems to be slow playing. With all the work Bryant has done and with the Steelers also involved, I find it hard to believe that there is any significant box Bryant hasn't checked off.

The NFL apparently thinks otherwise. .....and with Bryant's track record I tend to think the same thing.

Bryant's track record is no worse than the NFL's when it comes to honesty and transparency where discipline is involved. Goodell is the guy who wants you to believe he never saw the Ray Rice video.

And if the NFL is waiting for Bryant to comply with a treatment plan from here on ......so be it. Maybe Bryant thinks the plan he submitted is fine...and the NFL doesnt. Bryant has said all the right things as he has done in the past with his other suspensions and guess what? He failed another. What ever the hold up is Bryant needs to find out and correct it.....if he wants to play. Pretty simple.....I just hope his feelings do not get hurt over this and all. Doesn't the NFL know he is a grown man? Maybe he should have a one on one sit down with Goodell so they can clear the air.

Hope the kid keeps his head into life without the drugs. All kinds of potential. Gödel and his cronies still suck.

Why won't they clear him for the regular season?

Does he have to get additional clearance for the post season should The Steelers be so fortunate to qualify?

FU Goodell

Maybe they are just trying to get him not to relapse. I see nothing wrong with the NFL taking it a step at a time with him. Not like the last few times where he said he learned his lesson just to get popped again and again. There might not be a next time after this....so let the NFL try to get it right with him this time....for Bryant's sake.

I dont have a problem with the league taking it one step at a time so long as everyone including the Steelers know what the next steps are and can help him make sure he complies. No more of this bullshit. Do what you have to be ready for week one.

In other words he has to pee in a cup every day.

Welcome back Marty. Stay drug free and dominate this year
